Moments, I'm not big on dusting, but if (when!) we get a cat, I imagine I'll be more concerned with it. These days I only do it when I start to get sinus headaches or notice it building up. As for cats on the work surfaces, in my experience cats get on work surfaces, approved or not. It will drive me batty when we get one.:o

I'm more systematic in the kitchen because I've lived in places where you had to be because access to clean water was limited and food and water contamination was high. I spent a lot of time there sick, despite my best efforts. A couple of years ago my OH gave himself food poisoning with raw chicken. I'd told him numerous times he needed to wash his hands after touching raw chicken, but he didn't seem to understand that meant before you touch anything else, so he'd put away the chopping board etc all with raw chicken on his hands, touching cupboards, bins etc.. He is better now, but I can't stand being in the kitchen if he is cooking with meat, I just can't watch:D. That means I never know what has been touched.

My favourite subject in school was biology and I took much of it to heart. If you want to see me get so frustrated I can't speak, come into my kitchen and use a spoon that has been used for something else in a jar. Or put the jam in the cupboard. I can't help it, I just keep thinking about how new bacteria have just been introduced and without proper refrigeration they'll multiply even faster. My OH does NOT understand why a spoon used to stir oil and vinegar cannot be used to dip out some mustard.

That said, while I'll use disinfectant, I try to avoid any antibacterial soaps or sprays. I also don't use kitchen roll. It probably is more sanitary, but I can't stand the waste.

Well, day off today, as we're having some people around tomorrow and I need to get the house ready (dusting anyone?) and do some cooking.

Hehe, Reading about all these buba's and their sizes, made my SIL eye's water. She's 5"10 and has just reached 10 stone being 9 months pregnant!!

Shes really front heavy at the moment - She ended up in fits of laughter yesterday when she dropped a £1 coin on the floor, Bent over to get it & struggling to get back upright.:rotfl:

They said the baby is currently measuring at 6,11. Est to be over 8!
I think she's being pretty brave atm, She's convinced herself she wants no pain meds - however its easy saying it now when your not in labour!! lmao.

M/gran, We're like it now, If she makes a ouch noise everyone comes running :rotfl: xx

DS was 7lb 11 and was a ventuse delivery - traumatic for both of us

My DD was an attempted ventuse but it came off! it came out with such force and went flying across the room - I thought they'd pulled her bl00dy head off! :rotfl: She had to be forceps in the end (Sorry, Pops :D)

PrincessX87 - no pain meds, eh? Yeah we all said that at first. She'll see. Second time round, when I went in to be induced, beforehand the midwife said "do you have a birth plan"
Me "nope - no point the last one went to pot"
Midwife "have you thought about pain relief?"
Me "yes, I'd like an epidural"
Her "At what point do you want it?"
    Me "NOW"!!!

She thought I was serious :rotfl: and started blustering "oh no, we can't do that " etc. In the end it was so quick (3 hours) there wasn't time for much at all. THe gas and air mouthpiece was for biting on rather than sucking in!!

What a gorgeous day - and set fair for a couple of weeks :T I am so excited, I can barely contain it :j DD is having her 17th birthday party next weekend - she's having a bouncy castle, pass the parcel with dares, pin the tail, jelly and party bags :D Yes, I did say 17!! She's having driving lessons as part of the birthday package :eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:

    Have a marvellous day all

Hi everyone, had lots to catch up on, some 5 pages!!

Today I had a review for the AD's and ive been told I have to stay on them for at least 6 months but its looking like a year. My IBS is now a bit better, but that was all stress related.

I have the weekend off, so youngest DD has work she has a Saturday job on a flower stall. It pays £20 but she is happy with it. So just me and OH are going to go to Norwich and then on to great Yarmouth for a walk along the sea front and a bag of chips!!! I am really looking forward to our day out. Just the 2 of us!!

Had to finally admit to my OH that I am not coping, we had a long chat sat in his car last night while I was on my break. I am not good at explaining, but he was so worried I just didn't love him anymore. He promises to help more, and he has started. He tidyed up after himself last night and we are having some time together tomorrow.
Maybe I should have said something earlier, and not left it until it got to this stage.

All this talk of babies, my eldest was tiny tot, 32cm long and we had some dolls clothes handmade by a lady that were used as pre clothes were only just being sold. Still she has grown up and is now nearly 5ft tall, she has scoliosis and has rods along her spine. It doesn't stop her working and she lives a normal life. So thankyou NHS for your excellent care.

Must peg out the last washing load and then work again.

    Take care everyone x

I have sun roof babies too due to various complications ie me being near deaths door. Ds was 4 lb and small change and now is a strapping 5 ft 9" and rarely ill. DD who is 30 today - impossible as Im 35 ( or is that 53) was a suprise baby, I went for a scan about my gall stones and was asked ' is it commiserations or cellabrations - you are 5 months pregnant ' Trouble was I wasn't supposed to have any more babies. I swear I heard OH's mini hit the hospital wall when he skidded in to car park :rotfl: I spent most of the rest of the pregnancy in hospital and was delivered at 36 weeks. She was perfect apart from milk allergy. I was awake for the second section as I had to be resucitated after the first and didnt want to miss anything. I consider myself very lucky to end up with healthy babies after pre-eclampsia and other problems. And yes it is possible to get to 5 months and not know you are pregnant but you feel really really stupid :rotfl:

Glad we have had some good news on here , money winning, !!!!! cats feeling better and babies growing.

Nuttp do you feel relieved you got it off your chest? Have a lovely day out and re-charge your batteries hunny x

    Sorry Tattycath,
I tried the link and thought it wouldn't work and removed it within 30 seconds:D

    You were really quick!

Try the new link? Would you part with £25? You may as well just use a tape measure and/or a piece of elastic.

:)Hello can I come and sit on the OS doorstep? I have been lurking for ages taking in all the good advice.

OH has been made redundant/retired and I don't work at present so we are looking to make our money streeetch. He is 62 and wants to wind down into retirement. This is day 4............

We still have a son at home........oh well.

Any advice about helping us to manage the life change? OH still thinks he is on holiday and it hasn't sunk in yet. Maybe when he gets his refundancy money at the end of this month it will become more real.

So I have been using up leftovers for lunches and want to cut down on meat consumption. Still working on that as OH is requesting all his favourite meals this week. Today will be green lentil lasagne as I have courgettes and peppers that need using up so my choice for dinner.

Anyway hope I am welcome and I look forward to "seeing" you all on here.

So for starters here is vitual coffee and cake-coffee and walnut and lemon drizzle. Help yourselves :)

    Bye for now.
