Kez I hope you're OK. You've been having such a tough time lately.0

CC I'm so sorry to hear your news but at the same time I'm happy that you managed to make his last few months so comfortable and memorable for both of you. You're an inspiration to us all x"Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W. C. Field.0

Possession - shall I come paint a cross on your door?
Ginny - I'm glad your hubby has shown a bit more interest in food. It's such a struggle some days isn't it.
My DH is having a rough time of it lately and it's been very evident that his AD's aren't doing what they should. After walking on eggshells for the past few weeks we had the chat and he was off to see the GP yesterday. He needs to change his ADs for different ones but that involves coming off his current ones over the next 3 weeks and. Then building up on the new ones.....the next 6 weeks or so will not be fun but hopefully it will be the means to and end.
I've had 7 commissions for work over the past week so things are finally taking off.
We're in the middle of a giant hail stones storm at the moment, the noise is horrendous! Set to warm up next week though so I'm hoping to find some garden time......why don't veg seedlings grow as fast as weeds???"Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W. C. Field.0 -
Good morning toughies,
hello karmacat and pippi (love both the names!).... please pop by as often as you like
hope you get through today ok kez, thinking of you
ginny - good to hear DH eating a bit more and yes you must look after yourself properly (wags finger)
well done shegar for getting both the op and respite sorted, I'm sure the op will make a big difference. Maybe this is the start of a run of good luck and SS will get longer term care sorted next. Hang in there, just a bit longer until you and your DH get the support you both need.
pooky - some potentially tough weeks to come but hopefully worth you and DH gritting your teeth for. hope it isn't as bad as it sounds.
Had DS7 home from school last 2 days and he is back today, still not 100% but well enough for school. DH is working from home, did the school run and packed me off to bed as I have the snots now. Hoping a day of sensible rest (take note toughies) will mean I can be out and about tomorrow. Can;t shift a headache so not sleeping but at least resting. Will have some chicken soup soon, always help.
Had sad news this morning that a very dear friend's mum passed away a few hours ago. She was very ill so at least is at peace now. I want to be able to help out in any way I can so hoping this blooming lurgy shifts asap. So near mother's day and their little boy's birthday is next week. Wish I could do more but being a supportive friend is something I can be at least.
Glad to have time for reflection today, thinking of all that is good in my life amidst some tears.
take care

I am here to let you know that my darling, amazing love of my life was set free to fly , peacefully yesterday morning at 1 am.
He was surrounded in love with myself and his Mother beside him.
No more pain my love. fly free and ride the winds.

For CC, who knows these lines well.
Take me to some high place of heather, rock and ling
Scatter my dust and ashes, feed me to the wind
So that I will be part of all you see, the air you are breathing
I'll be part of the curlew's cry and the soaring hawk
The blue milkwort and the sundew hung with diamonds
I'll be riding the gentle wind that blows through your hair
Reminding you how we shared
In the joy of living.
(Last verse of Ewan MacColl's 'The Joy of Living'.)Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... I would have burned the pink candle, sculptured like a rose, that melted in storage." Don't keep things 'for best' - that day never comes. Use them and enjoy them now.0 -
