VS mum my DD is around the same age, and she is mid way through a 2 year course at collage. After a visit to the nurse she is on a very mild AD as a temp measure to help with everything. We did debate it a lot, and DD had 3 weeks off when she had her op so lots to catch up with. She Is a lot calmer and everything seems to be coming together. The medication is being reviewed every 2 months.

yesterday I made £69 at my car boot and DD made £97. So we are going to do another car boot next week. The money is very handy, and it clears a big space in the shed and the house!!

Well need to get dressed, going to aldi to take mum shopping.

    Hi All,

Very interrupted night last night due to the neighbour. Won't go into details, as some of it is probably private for him.

VJsmum In my experience the Uni will probably be supportive during a diagnosis as long as you can provide documentation that you are pursuing one. While there won't be access to funding, and they probably can't extend exam times, they usually do what they can otherwise. Honestly, I have a few students that I suspect of needing support but for whom I've never gotten a report (our Uni is notoriously slipshod in how and when instructors get reports) so I just make whatever adjustments I think are reasonable just to be on the safe side. I would hate to feel I'd let a student down, and often it is obvious that a particular student does better with advance questions etc. so I just make it a point to do it for the whole group so they don't feel singled out. Frankly, some of the things we call adjustments I think we should do for everyone, but don't get me started on that!

Still a bit emotional and wobbly here. Spent the afternoon with a friend yesterday, went for a walk. It was nice. Hugs to any and all who need them.x

Thanks ivyleaf, I meant to say the same. I hope I didn't
sound insensitive, I know there are lots of mums and MILS who will be very much missed and that MD may be a sad time for different reasons.

On that note, a dear friend lost her mum last summer and so will have her 1st MD without her mum and I would like to do something as a mark of support but not sure what. I thought maybe make her lunch (not on the actual day) and raise a glass (well cuppa probably) to her mum but don't know if that would upset her. I will gently ask her I think. Or maybe just a card?

    sq :)

SQ, I think making her lunch would be a lovely thing to do. :) (and the raising a glass bit!)

I found the first MD without my lovely Mum very hard - she had lived in England and I was in Germany or Belgium most of the time after I was married, as OH was in the army, but it felt "all wrong" not having her to send a card and loving message to. I know I'm so lucky to have had her.

Oh, and you weren't insensitive at all xx

Will go and catch up on the rest of the thread now, but wanted to answer this first in case I forgot.
  • Morning all.

Haven’t had time to catch up. Been busy trying to keep on top of everything.
We too had our council tax bill come in, Which is not bad either. Quite shocking, Properly because for the last 5 years, We have been playing catch up with C/tax debt and this year we started off on a clean slate.

Our debts are finally coming down. We’re starting to notice a drastic difference too. But this being said, I feel myself getting more nervous about finally becoming debt free, My worry is that we WILL head right back to over spending, Careless with money - Credit ect. Suppose, We still have a while yet, So more stiff training is needed.

Another thing that is concerning me is: OH is due some work trousers. This was the only thing we never managed to get last time around. But, I am worried that we will just ignore our sensible sides and start buying “things” because we believe its needed.

Today, I am paperwork shuffling, Making sure I am 100% on top of things. I also need to call the tax man later, For OH’s uniform tax rebate. It seems that you need to contact them yearly which is a nightmare, For one you can never get through and two, It means I need to call around the busiest times because OH needs to be there for them to agree talking to me.

Anyways, Must dash, hugs to everyone who needs one. xx
    Future goals:
    Become debt free.
    Beat Depression.
    Be happy & healthy

VJ' Mum - DD had no help at school - it was only when she got to college/ uni that the support has been incredible. School system don't have the funding for borderline pupils, whereas uni do. At uni she had psychological testing - the lot and a proper diagnosis -and is so well supported now at he university just as she was on her access course at college. Her access course was fantastic and she developed so many skills including social - it made a huge difference x
I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.
  • Hi MOLLY how's it all going with your health love? and how is your Dad after his stroke and Little Miss Molly, how is she getting on at Uni? I often think of you all and wonder, but don't like to be too pushy about asking, Love Lyn xxx.

Nutty well done on the booting, I've started to collect stuff not going on Eb@y and will probably do one later in the year. You got a good few quid what was selling the best? if you don't mind me asking.

Sat waiting for the hairdresser to come :( I can't stand being faffed with but we're at a wedding on Saturday and I don't think 4 inch roots are the order of the day :o

One of the good things about winter is wearing hats and best of all dog walking hats as no one has a clue what mop lies beneath :rotfl:

DH is hiding in the garage as he says I'm unbearable on "hair days" thankfully I only get it done twice a year.
