pic over this way there is a farm shop that sells onions and carrots by the net. loads cheaper and all you need is a good shed or garage to keep them in, wrap them in a blanket or an old carpet/rug to keep the frost out.
Have had abusy weekend, we decided to decorate DD room. Got a roll of paper from wilcos sale £4, loads of different design half price. Got the paint from homebase, 2 tins £9 as were in the sale section. Finally got a carpet from cright a roll end for £99. And what do we have a lovely grown up room. I had already stained her furniture a dark wood effect so looks new again. Also sorted ots of bits for the charity shop and car booting.
Today taking mum and DD to cash n carry, then we will find a pub for lunch. Mum has offered to treat us to lunch - so then we will wander around window shopping, or I will be anyway!!
Tomorrow is a rest day, think I have done little too much and im hurting in a few places. Find you it was worth it to see DD face when the room was all finished.
Lovely pic of the puddy cat, it looks all fluffy n cuddly. I have a pressure cooker book if anyone wants it.

Morning all
Hope everyones feeling a bit brighter today we've had a busy weekend screening in the front garden and trying to catch up with the planting/weeding and tidying up. Nice to do it in the sun though rather than rain!
Hope you all have a great day XX0 -
Morning everyone.
Kidcat, The kitty is lovely….Gentle pat from me.
I have had a nightmare of a morning. Money due to come to us this morning hasn’t arrived, So having to chase that up, But the line is constantly engaged. Been trying since 8am. Not once has the phone dialled.
I ordered a item on ebay about a week & half ago. It was changed from the seller from auction style to buy it now, With agreement from me, Because the item was urgent. The seller’s rep was checked and it seemed like a steal. Luckily ive paid with pay pal, But now there is 4 new negative reviews put on over the weekend. It seems about the same time I brought this item, Other brought bits and none of us have received our items. I have tried more than once to contact the seller and ask for proof of postage, With no reply. It seems I may have been had. That said, I will wait for today’s post before I open a dispute.
Then, I was walking the pooches, When I heard a rip. Looked down and now the sole of my boot has broken. Completely ruined. No chance of repair at all. So that’s yet another expense.
The party over the weekend went well, Only a few minor issues with certain people not getting on, But nothing that directly effects OH & I. It made a change to go out and let our hair down. Better still, We spent a total of £9.90. As everyone was buying us drinks without asking us.
Potatoes have become really expensive here. I am considering growing my own, But we really don’t have the best soil, ground, space ect. We have also been looking at growing some of the fruit & veg that we eat to see, Whether its cheaper than buying from the market ect.
PS: Does anyone have some tips on how I can recover some white sauce I made yesterday. I’ve put it in the S/C because my plan today was to make mac & cheese, But tasting it this morning, I clearly haven’t cooked the flour out enough?Future goals:
Become debt free.
Beat Depression.
Be happy & healthy0 -
According to Hotukdeals Morrisons are selling 12.5 kg bags of unwashed potatoes for £3.49. Hope this helps those looking for cheap spuds.Nothing is so fatiguing as the eternal hanging on of an uncompleted task. William James0

Morning all
What a lovely weekend! Whilst I'm not a sun lover I don't think anyone could fail to be cheered by a nice sunny weekend.
Lots achieved at home and a big decluttering session has started. I've got 5 bits of furniture listed on the local FB sites, DH has just dug out an old laptop and a few other gadgets that can go too, fingers crossed we make a bit of cash from them.
Currently have a noisy gang of roofers here replacing our big flat roof, the boiler man is coming this afternoon to service the boiler too so it's an enforced day at home sorting and cleaning. Will be a NSD too which always helps (especially with a roofing and plumbing bill).
Got a blanket to finish this evening and then need to organise myself for the next one on the order list, got 2 quilts on the go too and a memory quilt commissioned for next month. A couple of papercut enquiries too so I might actually make some money this month"Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W. C. Field.0 -
Good Morning
Just 2 hours work for me today so I get an easy one
Although Im about to attempt to do housework on a busted ankle. For no reason at all I went over on it this morning. I can weight bare but any other ankle movement hurts.
Both DH and I are determined to cut back on the amount we eat because were plain and simply getting fat from gluttony. Its sluggish and ugly and not at all like our personalities - gone on too long! So I type with a green tea and plans to have leftover chicken sandwich for lunch and nothing more!
Left over chicken curry for tea but fistfuls of curry, boiled rice and half naan as opposed to full plate! Just a korma so the kiddies will eat that too.
Having to withdraw my electric money and set it aside as the company havent yet attached the credit meter to my online account. All would be paid pronto should I have chosen direct debit but because I want to manage it myself boy o boy what a time waiting game.
OS confession? I went out to work all weekend with a double crease in my tunic. So funny at how many older people noticed and commented pulling my leg. Im pinickity about things and having worked in the dry cleaners Im well aware of the disgust double creases causes but so funny to work with girls who were oblivious at such a faux pas0 -
Happy St Patricks anyone celebrating and morning everyone.
Farmyardfoodies do 7.5kg of spuds for £2 at the mo and if you are buying with a voucher, that's equivalent to £1.80. You get the odd spud that needs binning or cutting a chunk off but for the price I'm not complaining.
Just did some shopping, a few bits from several shops all in record time and them realised I had forgotten 2 important items from 2 separate shops and had to retrace my steps, doh! In a local discount store its common practice to let people with tiny amounts in front of the big trolley loads. I do it for others all the time. I had 1 thing, paying by cash and a couple of people had a whole conveyer belt worth. They didn't invite me in front so I politely asked if I could quickly pay for my 1 thing. They mumbled yes but with really cross faces. I had to stop myself laughing. In a way I would rather they had said no as I have had before, as least people are being honest. I nearly said not it's fine but swept up my purchase and said thank you very cheerily and went on my merry way. Life's rich tapestry eh?
Trying to tick several little tasks off my list which are needed asap and then this pm will whip round the house. I have a friend over tomorrow and want the place reasonable. Also am busy socially (get me!) this week and want to find time for the gym and decluttering at the very least.
have a good day, hope everyone's ok? A few people haven't posted in a while.
take care
