Hugs CC. As you've seen, we're all here for you, and I'm sure at the moment what you need is people who will listen and empathise, but who don't know you. Sometimes it's easier like that.

And you didn't have to agree to get rid of the RV in return?

Well I only want one and I only want a male. In my exp females are a pain in the a$$ :) They have females and they have pairs, but only one male and he has a wee bit of a troubled history.

You realise that you'll then be outnumbered...

We have two in our pens at the moment "Slasher" can't you tell she's friendly ;)

And a lovely boy who I'm surprised no one is missing. Neutered, chipped and wormed and called Bates (Downton fan)

We have now been fostering for

If only RM delivered cats x

CC - I can only echo what everyone else has already said and offer you a huge hug (not in the same league as Miss Stiltys, obviously ;) ) - Hope Mr CC is home very soon.

Mar - Yay to a moggy! I'm rather partial to moggies (you'd never have guessed) and would quite happily forego most of my family for more moggies :)

Possession - hope Mr P had a great first day.

I've been running around like a loon all day as I seem to feel turbo charged at the moment, it won't last so I'm making the most of it.

So glad to hear that you are getting things organised Cornish - all the best to you lovey.

Had a good day today - the small ones went back to school and nursery but as they had different holidays to the school where we go to stay and play I went off to stay and play without them to be a volunteer as they were a bit short handed! Had a fab morning being the volunteer with the birds of prey visitors and got to fly both the barn owl and the harris hawk down the school corridor!!! It was amazing. I also got to help kids meet and handle the birds which was a joy in itself. This afternoon in the soft play room was a little more ....er.... fun/interesting! but I still enjoyed it and was really glad I'd done it.

DD was really pleased to get back to school and tell everyone about her holiday and chat to her friends using her talker.

Hugs to all who need one, and Miss Stilty has given me permission to offer special squeezy hugs to anyone who really needs one - X

I've come to this a bit late CC but if all the messages of love and support are anything to go by, you and your DH will be wallowing in warmth, comfort, thoughts and prayers. Live in the moment flower, cherish every second of your shared time. You know we are all with you in spirit.

Candlelight: Just to let you know that I visited the flat today and have never seen anything so awful in my life. It was worse than a slum. Bless her heart, she has made every effort to keep it clean and orderly but with panes of glass missing from the windows, bare wires sticking out from the walls, graffiti left by a previous owner, no cooking facilities whatsoever, holes in floors and walls, gaping hole in the door where someone once broke in, no furniture except chests of drawers with most of the drawers missing and a small cupboard with half a door. However, she said proudly, there is a bath so she can keep herself clean. I took her a toaster, some bread, butter, (no fridge but no need for it with holes in the windows and no heating) and some Nutella, Marmite and jam so she has something she can eat. What thrilled her most was some loo rolls and a few tea towels.
She spends most of her time in bed because it's warmer and if she is asleep it blots out the misery.
No wonder she took to alcohol, I think I would if I had to live like that. I walked back home in a blur of tears.

I can't do much more this week but next week people are going to listen to me!

I hope you can do something Monna. When you see the conditions some people are expected to live in (and they have to PAY to live in them) it's no wonder they end up drinking or taking drugs.

I used to live on an ex-council estate where the majority of houses were privately owned and tarted up. When the old couple in the HA house next to me died, the LA took everything out - fitted wardrobes, carpets (less than a year old), laminate flooring etc. They even removed skirting boards and light fittings leaving bare wires. They did repair one kitchen cupboard with a non-matching door.

The recovering addict moving in there with two small children didn't stand a chance sadly. It still wasn't sorted out by the time they evicted her several years later and moved a new family in. Luckily the new family were a LOT tougher and prepared to spend the time making the HA's life hell to get the back door (rotten, with the window boarded up) replaced. It took them 6 months, and they'd boarded it up and started painting the frame 18 months before the change in tenants. When I say 'started' painting, half the frame was undercoated grey, and half painted red. Then they decided that as the door was rotten there was no point in painting it as it needed replacing... and walked away...

I wish there was something we could do to help. If there is, let us know.
