PPC, UKPC fines not parked within lines!?

Sorry. I made a mistake - confused SilverLINK (Newcastle area) with SilverBURN (Glasgow area). I deleted my post before I thought anyone saw it, so didn't realise it had been quoted.

So that's me exonerated
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

This is an old thread and please note I am NOT hijacking it! I have not received a notice. I do however want to make sure as many of these parking (mis) management firms as possible are kicked out by those that employed them.
That means complaining to the retailers, or managing agents, or land owners.
To that end anyone who gets one of these notices at Silverlink should contact the retailers initially - there's not much reason to be in the park if you aren't consuming or shopping so go armed with receipts, card statements etc.
If that gets you nowhere then try jonathan.lovejoy@capita.co.uk who is listed on the Capita website as the director responsible for Property Management (which includes retail). Capita Symonds have signs on the way into the park identifying them as the managers of the park.
The UKPC signs however are a different matter - there are a few on entry from one side of the park but not the other (the cinema end for those familiar). However as we know it's not about quantity - you can't read a single one of them from your car and the ones in the actual parking areas are so far apart and again unreadable that there is no way you can be judged to have agreed to a contract.
In the hope that it might help someone in future I took a couple of pics whilst at Silverlink at the weekend.
This one is me standing close to the sign (this particular one is outside M&S - you can see that it's way above my head (I'm 5 ft 9) and therefore there's no way it can be read from the drivers seat - or from a parking space.
This pic illustrates the point - taken from the junction (but again me standing, not in a car).
Further, the car park is free so there is no loss!
Anyway can we edit the title to include the word Silverlink so that anyone who happens to search can find it?0 -
Further to last post I have been conversing with Amy of Jones Lang LaSalle who is listed on the Silverlink website here; http://www.silverlinkshoppingpark.co.uk/contact
The picture in terms of land owner seemed a bit blurred to me so I asked her for clarification. The answer is below so I'm looking for a contact at the Crown Estate.
Capita are the property managers and LaSalle Investment Management were landlords until last week but the scheme has just been sold to The Crown Estate so property managers will likely change.

In a hypothetical situation where the land owner was receiving a commission on charges for fake PCN's issued at Silverlink, the Queen would in fact be getting 15% of it (in very simplistic terms) as the treasury pays to the monarch 15% of net revenues of the crown estate annually!
So if I paid up £100 and 10% went to Crown Estates, then £1.50 would ultimately go to the Queen!
I've found the name of the director responsible for the aquisition and have emailed him some searching questions.
I'll share any response I get.
Sorry if these posts are annoying anyone but I'm on my own personal crusade against these scumbags.
EDIT - for clarification by scumbags I mean UKPC and others, not the Queen0 -
Just been advised that the external parking contract has been terminated with effect from 17th October so after this date they will no longer be operating at the park.0

Yay - well done for being tenacious with your complaint! :T
Now that's some update - as long as Parking Eye or ANPR Ltd don't replace them!PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

I don't think I can claim any credit. More likely a decision as a result of the sale.0 -

Since you are on such good terms with the higher echelons of this company - can you ask if the PPC will change? Or are they going to do what virtually all landowners should do - and kick them out.0 -

I don't know why you would think that saying as I only just identified Crown Estate as land owner. The info and conversation as I indicated is with Amy of Jones LangLaSalle whose contact details are on the silverlink website posted above but will likely change in the coming days due to the sale.
Whether there will be a new PPC I don't know, but if I get a response from the crown estate to my initial query then I'll ask.
They have other retail interests such as the gate in Newcastle - that has an underground car park - barrier entry with tickets issued, pay at machine before you leave. That however is a city centre location not an out of town retail park and was in place long before Crown Estate aquired the site.0 -
As promised...
The Crown Estate responded and have confirmed that "UKPC will not be retained as a supplier by The Crown Estate "
However when asked if they would be replaced the answer included wording to the effect that a review would be carried out of the services at the park. That includes any potential misuse of parking.
At this particular site I can't imagine there is much misuse, but I'm not going to pre-judge the Crown Estate. Let's just hope for now that they don't simply replace one scammer with another.
If they do, and you've ended up on this thread after looking for 'Silverlink', PM me and I will send you the details for the contact at the Crown Estate.
I feel at his point it wouldn't be appropriate to post those details here as I don't have the express permission, and to this point they are in the right, not the wrong - of course IF that changes then you can expect an edit here.0
