Hello ladies! I promised I'd be back so here I am - better late than never!
Well, I had a brilliant holiday with the Fling (who is now promoted to boyfriend :rotfl:). Glorious weather, fabulous place, romantic days and nights, lots of food and drink though so now need to get back to fabbing.
I have a lovely tan and look healthy and happy but feel podgy to say the least. I have weighed and the damage is at most 2 lbs but it feels like more - I think the lack of exercise has let my body relax and feel flabby. So, its back to making more of an effort.
We went for a big walk yesterday in the countryside which was a good start but then followed it up with a big pub lunch so that klind of cancelled out the effort
Today is a new day though and I have 3 weeks of holiday left so have plenty of time to get back in shape.
I have a hair appointment booked for Tuesday to sort out the roots and give it a quick trim to take the dry ends off so that will be a good start to rectifying the holiday damage. My nails are in a complete state so thats a job for today after I've cut the grass (that seems to have grown a foot in a week:eek:). Eyebrows also need attention - they could do with a tint as with the tan they have kind of faded away a little bit - will see if I can get that done today.
I also need to start eating properly again too - I've been incredibly lazy with cooking and have almost forgotten how to make meals - although salad and bits and pieces are nice I need to step up with nutrition and cut down on the booze.
So today's agenda invloves mowing the lawn, cleaning the house, walking the dog, popping in to town to print some photos out and pick up a few bits, get nails and eyebrows done if possible and get some general laundry and tidying done. A day to get a lot of chores and boring jobs out of the way.
Hope everyone is well and keeping up the fabbing.
xxxx
LL - just read your post - what a great opportunity to live "with" your OH. I think its a fabulous idea and hope it will make you both happy, at the very least you'll be in each other's lifes a lot more and it will feel more "normal" for you both. Best wishes with the move. xxx0 -
WIshing I had a boyfriend or a fling.......hey ho one day maybe I will.
Anyhow, I'm busy working away on my dissertation - first draft is up to 300 words away from the word count limit so at lot of progress made this week.
I feel a bit better at last after 2 weeks of the chest infection and I thought even though I feel rubbish I'd get on with some writing while off work to ease the stress and not go for an extension as I can't wait until the deadline and get it finished and my life back.
Fabwise its nails and feet tidy up today, not much else to report apart from keeping the house looking quite tidy and not go to pot too much while diong this dissertation.
I've been saving for a holiday next year and found some quite reasonable priced ones to go on my own. All savings are going well so I am skint right now but hey no probs as my plans are working really well. Time to get back on with my work now - have a good weekend everyone!
WW - sounds like a great holiday
LL - sounds a good change of plan with less travelling and close by to your OH and less tiringfinal unsecured debt to repay currently £8333Proud to be Dealing With my DebtDFW Nerd 1154 Long Haul 1550 -
LL- the bungalow sounds like a lovely idea. I don't blame you leaving the men to live on the building site!
WW- that's great news about the boyfriend!
I've now got a whole week off work, couldn't have come soon enough! Haven't got much planned yet, will probably go to the gym and I'm planning on going into town to get a posh lesuirely breakfast and probably afternoon tea from patisserie Valerie lol I do have a humongous stack of magazines and a massive tea stash to work my way thorough though!
I have been going to yoga. Both my parents crashed the class on Thursday. My mum enjoyed it but we do meditation at the end and my dad is very much in the "it's all b******s!!!!" Camp. I tried to explain he wouldn't get anything out of it with that attitude but he wouldn't listen. Ah well, I tried!0 -
Nice to see you all back with lovely news. I've still been concentrating on health and fitness things rather than anything glam and steadily working my way through the Couch to 5K program. I've amazed myself at getting this far but yet to notice any obvious physical or health benefits, although I am sure there must be some.
I've also been having a bit of a blitz on the underwear drawers lately and swapped out a lot of the dingy old greying bras and bought a couple of decent new ones.
If the running efforts don't start to pay dividends in weight loss, I'm going to have to take a serious look at my diet too.Mortgage

LL I know that wasn't your original plan but it sounds a wonderful idea and being so close to OH seems perfect. There is a preparing for winter thread on OS board which might have some cheap ideas for staying warm etc. would you consider that shrink to fit cling film type stuff for "secondary glazing"?
WW ooooh fling has been upgraded :T glad you had a good time
Sparkles glad your on the mend after your chest infection. Good news in the dissertation. You seem to be cracking on with it quite well x
Squid a stash of mags and copious cups of tea sounds like a great way to spend a weekI have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knifeLouise Brooks

Yes I've been looking at the preparing for winter thread. Some great ideas on there and I'm definitely up for the cheap "secondary glazing". I remember doing something similar years ago when I rented a flat with draughty old sash windows.
Sparkles - sorry to read that you have been so poorly. Do take some time to rest up and recuperate.
WW - :T:T on the Fling now being upped to Boyfriend Status.
My nails are wrecked and my hands feel like sandpaper. Some serious TLC required.
A bit of a rest day today so will pull in a pampering manicure.0 -
I am resting well and recuperating - not up to much at all apart from aiming to increase my daily dog walks up to where they were before all this happened.
My fabness today is my hair prewash treatment and hair mask and face exfoliate and facemask which I currently have on. Then its on with reading for the dissertation to rewrite a section and walk up to town for a couple of bits I need then back to carry on with the reading and writing.
Happy chilling Sunday everyone!final unsecured debt to repay currently £8333Proud to be Dealing With my DebtDFW Nerd 1154 Long Haul 1550 -
Chilling?! If only Sparkles. I am attempting to do 20 things at once and getting nowhere
:o
Need to stop panicking and plod, might make better progress that way. Back still playing up but is getting better very slowly.
Off to cut the lawn before packing commences.

Morning all! (or is it afternoon now?)
Had a lovely day yesterday - went for lunch to a fancy bagel type shop, a wander round town, home for a while and then a curry and cuddle watching telly with the Fling. Nothing outrageously exciting but all very chilled and relaxing. Good job really as I had an impromptu night out on Saturday with a girlfriend that turned into a wine fest and 4 hours sleep - I am definitely too old for that lark these days.
I have decided that today is the start of being good again - feeling decidedly podgy - so its a week off the booze, better food and more exercise. Have started as I mean to go on with a good 45 min brisk dog walk this morning and a quick clean of the house. Have now showered, put a bit of slap on and done my hair and will be seeing Fling this afternoon, hopefully no food will be involved.
Its hair colour and cut day tomorrow so that will help spruce me up a bit. Just feel like I need a bit of grooming if you know what I mean.
I also need to stop spending money like its going out of fashion...have been going bonkers lately and its payday this week (can't come too soon!) so that will be be a new start too.
When a get a quiet moment I'll brace myself and go through the finances and get a grip and make a new budget etc.
Right better get on with it - hope everyone is ok.0 -
Morning all! Its still very quiet here! Hope we're all ok?
Not a lot to report really - fabwise had my hair cut and coloured yesterday (£65:eek:) but its much tidier now. Managed to do my nails and eyebrows and a full body moisturise too.
Also bought a new night cream as the old one had run out and went to bed slathered in all sorts of lotions and potions.:)
Only managed dogwalking as exercise yesterday but it added up to about 90 mins so all wasn't lost.
I forced myself to sit down and look at the finances too and got a few things sorted - some unnecessary direct debits cancelled, payments made and credit card sorted so all I need to do now is control the spending over the next month. Easier said than done lately.
Today will involve getting some exercise, doing plenty of dogwalking and seeing the Fling later.
Hope everyone has a good day xx0
