Things you should do before you have children

Appreciate your breasts - they will never look the same again!
Spend quality time with your OH - eat out, stay out late, sleep in late.
Read a newspaper regularly.
Love it! After a year of breastfeeding my tits are now down to my knees and I've only just finished last Sunday's paper

Travel to various "non kid friendly" places IE. vegas, venice etc
Buy a 2 seater car or car with small boot you cant fit a buggy, bag with essentials in and an emergency bag for if the essential bag is all used up etc!
Lots of staring into space thinking this is a waste of life, until fast forward kids running riot you hear "mummy" at least 100 times in an hour, read a lot of nonsense books before you are reading about how your child has colic, ear ache, wonky toes etc.
Enjoy your Wembley cream carpet with lines from the hoover again one day crumbs, paint, dirtay clothes thrown for mummy to pick up.
Evenings watching rubbish tv before dictated by kids activities, tennis, swimming lessons, brownies, scouts!
Sorry wouldn't change it for the world but oh how I can day dream about those holidays you are on a sun lounger book in one hand pina colada in the other, now chaos chaos chaos! :rotfl:£14, 500 to go0 -
visit cities...any cities you want to see anywhere
they are horrible to visit with small children
and stressy to visit with anything below teens..
oh
and go to las vegas....
and just wander in and out of you house randomly with a really small amount of stuff - instead of army sized bags....
and paint your toenails...even if your a bloke...
put chillies and blue cheese in everything...foods going to get really ...well - ..you'll see
sit around open fires late at night
drink too much
stay in bed all day
wake up in the middle of the night and sing really loud songs
learn to rollerskate...
and walk around the house with no clothes on.......

Depending on your age, don't put it off. Sadly not every woman gets pregnant easily and if you are wrong side of 30 it's very stressful.
I was married 9 years before DD came along! Holidays, cars, etc. are not important. Family is important.

I haven't changed my house at all really
. Shoved some of the OH's clothes to one side to stick a cot in the back bedroom and put locks on two of the kitchen cupboards (bleach etc. and medicine). Other than that, nothing.
You probably do need to make adjustments as your child gets older and you certainly need to get your head round toys everywhere, but you don't need to radically alter your living space, IME."Growth for growth's sake is the ideology of the cancer cell" - Edward Abbey.0 -

I miss my tidy house... Won't tell you what I've just found under dd1 bean bag!
I also miss watching my fav prog with a glass of wine with no interruptions.
However, I also wouldn't change it for the world!Don’t put it down - put it away!

We certainly didn't/haven't. One cupboard lock and a stairgate for DD's room. That's about it.Trying to be a man is a waste of a woman0
