Title says it all,
Husband and I are "getting our ducks in a row" (aka financially) before we look to start a family next year and getting ducks in a row is taking longer than I'd like, so I've got time on my hands before life changes forever so I decided to starting a fun thread for anyone to comment on - if you have kids or not / if you want them or not / if you are a big kid...
Can I have your suggestions please?

Some times you have to hold back to go forward to where you want to be.

Enjoy doing nothing, reading (I miss this a lot!) enjoying adult meals out without little hands grabbing at food and the cinema.
Those are the things I miss the most, and lazy long lies with Sunday brunch
The frontier is never somewhere else. And no stockades can keep the midnight out.0 -
I read the title and my first thought was - have sex!
Go on adult holidays to places of culture, make lots of last minute plans, have weekend lie-ins, talk to your friends about everything other than babies. And have lots of sex.0 -
Embrace the fact you can go to the loo without interruption.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0

I'm currently at the same stage as you, OP.
I'm making a point of frequently admiring the display cabinet in my lounge. It's ceiling-height and should have been built by two people, but I did it myself when we first moved in and OH and I were sleeping in separate homes as we navigated the furniture removal. It's always leaned forward a little, and I'm fairly certain that if anyone touched it then it'd disintegrate before their eyes. I probably didn't actually fix any of the pieces together, but it looks good! If I ever have a toddler, it'll be the first thing to be dismantled...which shouldn't take long.
So, I suppose I like having my house furnished the way I like without worrying about what's safe and what's not, and whether or not my beloved display cabinet will land on my son or daughter.0 -
Appreciate your breasts - they will never look the same again!
Spend quality time with your OH - eat out, stay out late, sleep in late.
Read a newspaper regularly.0 -
I second the poster above - enjoy your home as it is!
I have 'lost' my craft room, my lovely blinds are tied back and I doubt I will be able to afford many nice furnishings anytime soon. However, I wouldn't change this for the world and the baby isn't even here yet. :rotfl:
We have been eating out a lot and spending time just the two of us as in 11 short weeks life will never be the same again.
If I had known I would be pregnant this year, I would have take a long sunshine break over winter. If you aim for the moon if you miss at least you will land among the stars!0 -

Have your 'blow-out' holiday

Whether it is the pyramids in Egypt, the Grand Canyon, the canals of Venice, the Great Wall in China or a barge on the Norfolk Broads just get out there and do it while you can.
I have no drains on my resources so I am still enjoying my holidays :T0 -
Sleep. Sleep. Sleep. Sleep. Sleep. You get the picture."Growth for growth's sake is the ideology of the cancer cell" - Edward Abbey.0

so much of the stuff mentioned you can still to a degree when you have children.
Talk about being parents. Talk about things that you think are important. Schooling? disaplin? What you expect etc. Better to know you are both on the same page now rather than trying to sort things out when your stressed and tired and things are a big issue0
