Another success for the first law of forum posting - if it says "rip off" in the title then it isn't.

Fares go up ad down, a longer time frame would have been more useful.

Whilst I agree with your post and yes it is useful information I think EASYJET are the issue here. What's the point of varying the price, a fundamental of (especially) low-cost air fares if you offer a can't buy cheaper promise. Everyone end's up paying.
Yes it might help the OP and good luck to them. I suspect if more than 00.XX% claimed it would be scrapped.
But yes, in this case you make a very good point. :T

The thing is, hardly anyone claims. Just having the "price promise" is often reassurance for most folk that they were getting the best deal.
Easyjethotels had a "double the difference" promise years ago.
Often their prices were DOUBLE their competitors but most people assumed because of the price promise that they were getting the best deal.
If you claimed it was often possible to get the full cost refunded.
Too many claims thanks to this forum and they pulled the price promise

Remember that claims under this promise are settled in vouchers rather than cash, so Easyjet still wins.

Yes, but better than most airlines surely?

    Hi all,
Phoned easyjet and they gave me a voucher code for £186 to use within 6 months! Well pleased, as I will use it against next years trip! Many thanks again pompeyrich!

    Hi pompeyrich,
Yes. I just mentioned the Flight Price Decrease and their Price Promise and the price difference. Within 5 minutes it was sorted!
I think Easyjet have messed up, as far as this years summer flights are concerned. When we booked last October, are flights were over 40% higher than the previous year. I have never known such a big increase in one year. We have been going to ibiza for many years now in a timeshare, always using Easyjet and flying from our local airport. The planes in all previous years have nearly always been over 90% full. When I checked the flights yesterday, only 30 people had allocated theirselves seats, which MAY indicate the flight is no where near full. So it begs the question, why put the fares up so much in the first place!

yes well done to pompeyrich for providing some useful information instead of the perennial "you wouldn't have offered to pay the extra if they'd gone up" blah blah blah - wish the sheep would just desist from posting their predictable claptrap
Yes indeed - I have to admit I thought it was a stupid question to start with (though I don't waste bandwidth posting that). But turns out it wasn't and got some very useful info the next time I book with EasyJet! Do any other airlines do this?

"I have emailed Easyjet to register my disgust, threatening to contact the CAA and BBC Watchdog about this."

This is just genius! Love it!
