Easyjet rip-off!

  • If you bought dishwasher tablets from Ocado, then 6 months later they were half price, complain to Ocado. I thought not.

As with everything, flights can go up or down, and it's a well known fact that often with budget airlines booking early isn't always the best option, neither is booking late. For budget travel 6 - 12 weeks before the travel date is generally recommended.

    Hi,
I have emailed Easyjet to register my disgust, threatening to contact the CAA and BBC Watchdog about this. Do you think I have a right to complain about this or not?

Good lord no, I very much hope easyJet won't spend a second of their time replying to you assuming they've even stopped laughing of course. The idea that a company shouldn't be allowed to lower their prices in light of demand is utterly ludicrous, the idea that someone would actually consider it a rip-off of they did is even more so.

If you bought a 'friend' in Bangkok, then 6 months later they were half price, (or 2 for one) would you complain to witchdog, I thought not.

This actually quite annoys me, why the heck does the OP think they are so important that they don't have to shop around like the rest of us, they just book when they fancy and feel they deserve the best deal. Life ain't like that.

Easyjet do offer a price promise, so if all the details of the flight are the same and you can now find it cheaper, you can claim the difference back in EJ vouchers. Initial details HERE.

T&Cs apply and can be found in article 26 "Price promise". If the link has timed out, type "flight price decrease" into the search box at EJ customer services help page.

Prices go up and down, you jump aboard when you think the price suits you. If the price goes up you're happy, if it goes down - tough sh*t.
I must admit I do look after booking but only so I don't make the same mistake again. Ryanair haven't got the better of me for a long while now but thank's to all those that subsidise my travels.

Falling prices, I'm sure witchdog will be very interested, Zzzzzzzzzzzzzz

yes well done to pompeyrich for providing some useful information instead of the perennial "you wouldn't have offered to pay the extra if they'd gone up" blah blah blah - wish the sheep would just desist from posting their predictable claptrap

Whilst I agree with your post and yes it is useful information I think EASYJET are the issue here. What's the point of varying the price, a fundamental of (especially) low-cost air fares if you offer a can't buy cheaper promise. Everyone end's up paying.
Yes it might help the OP and good luck to them. I suspect if more than 00.XX% claimed it would be scrapped.
But yes, in this case you make a very good point. :T
