Thank you for all my get better soon's :)
I am having a good day so far but I still have had about four or five snoozes through the day but can do more in between - if that makes sense? So I appear to be on the road to recovery.

Kerri - I raise you your shorts and t-shirt (ohh errr missus - that sounds wrong) and give you vest top and knickers (lol) :rotfl:I am just loving this weather (a lot of my resting has been done outdoors :D)

Rising - It is brilliant to see you back, looking forward to you joining in next month.

My fridge is now full of lots of lovely healthy things to try and boost my energy levels again and stop the kids from getting rickets after all the crap they have eaten this last week. :o The thing is I am not sure if I am going to count it as an NSD or not. To me, food (like diesel) is essential and in this weather I will probably be buying fresh stuff every three or four days. (when I get back into a routine)
Hmmmmmmm, I will have to ponder for a while.

Anyway, time for bed (said Zebedee)

    Night Night All :)

I'm sure your mum appreciates the food and the gesture/love behind it:)
I think whatever age you are, you're always your mother's son or daughter. Feeding your offspring must be a 'mum gene' or something. (I'm sure it's the same with dads as well, just maybe not with food - maybe fixing something at your home, doing a holiday airport run or whatever.)
And with your baking you're following the law of karma:A - 'what goes around comes around', 'As you sow so shall ye reap', 'It all evens out in the end'- call it what you will.

Eeek, I'm not sure I want to think about the 'what goes around comes around' with some of my less successful baking attempts :rotfl: just kidding a) fortunately I can recall only two absolutely inedible disasters (one being when I was at school and one being some super salty stock) ...but you'd better warn Nargle with some of Igor's exploits - the sprout curry was bad enough the first time it went around :rotfl::eek::rotfl::eek:

I am however enjoying the lovely karma from my strawberry and white choc mousse cake :D nom nom

Glad you're feeling on the mend Freeby, keep up the snoozes, sounds like you need them x Might have to rewrite your rules about the fresh stuff then, perhaps a weekly 'fresh pot'? Then anything over that counts as a spend.

I was very organised today and finally cut up and froze the rhubarb I picked in the week ready for crumbles when the nights draw in.

..and if you could un-raise my shorts the neighbours would be very appreciative :rotfl::rotfl: (enjoying the weather too though, esp as it looks like we won't be going away on a summer break this year - but planning next year and still have a long weekend in Sept so can't complain)

    I used this one

    http://www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/1364644/strawberry-and-white-chocolate-mousse-cake

i reduced the white choc to 250g and did use light cream cheese (although this poss made it not set quite so much in the fridge), used choc covered digestives on the base and also drizzled with dark choc.

I put it in the freezer the following morning for a few hours to set it more, took it out in the afternoon and it's still holding firm in the fridge (well the last slice anyway :rotfl:)

You could actually make the mousse part on its own and have it as a kind of eton mess - or even poss freeze and have it as a frozen dessert, poss with some blueberries or a fruit puree (says the NSD answer to Nigella :rotfl:)

    Evening everyone

Sorry you've been poorly, freeby, but good to see you're on the mend again, fingers crossed :A

Just reporting in with NSD no 11 which succumbed to my charm today :D... well, it was either my charm or the severe bashing it had around the head.. one or the other :D

Hope you've all had a good day and are enjoying this lovely weather :)

Rising - good to see you back. I've been worried about you as you haven't updated your diary for a while
:) The time you enjoy wasting is not wasted time :)
  • Thanks for the warm welcome back :)

Really missed hearing what everyone's up to but have hardly been online at all:o

I've had to cut my hours at work so even skinter than normal  but TBH I just couldn't go on the way I was as I was just exhausted and getting no-where.

It's only for 3 months initially and hoping (needing!) to go back to FT then but I must admit it's doing me heaps of good & feeling better in the past couple of weeks than I have done for nearly a year now :o
