NSD fail today as I've succumbed to the heat to purchase icecream and was distracted by reduced calories in boxes in my fave cabinet in the shop-cheapy yellow stickers- (but damn they taste twice as good when only 30p not £1.60) so spent £4.55 on cake, crap, bread . milk and the aforementioned icecream. 2 carrier bags so not bad but not strictly needed so I feel guilty, but for now the donuts r taking the guilt away

    NSD 6 today:T

    and

    3-in-a-row :j

I'm ahead in the food stakes this weekend as well, as I called in to see my mum and dad this afternoon, and my mum insisted on me taking some food with me (tomato & marscapone sauce, and spinach & walnut ravioli, from Sainsbury); it was actually from my sister, as she and the family are off on holiday today, so passed on some near-sell-by-date food to my parents.
And my mum wouldn't take 'no' for answer - mums don't, do they? I bet it's the same the world over, when sons and daughters visit parents, the mums always insist on them taking some food away with them.
But I'm a little the same. When friends call round, for whatever reason, they usually leave with some edible goodies; a mate called round earlier in the week to help out with some DIY, and he left with a bottle of HM chipotle sauce and a tub of HM pizza sauce.

Enjoy the rest of the weekend, everyone :)

Yep my mum is the same, she's always got treats for the cats or bits for me, I feel really guilty when she's opening the cupboards looking for things for me to take away with me - I do nip round with the odd home made goody but she's a bit of a difficult eater so sometimes I don't know whether she'll like something or not. However, my friends at work (and OH work) benefit from my baking so I guess I'm passing the good deed on :A

Can't believe it's nearly 10.30pm and we're still sat in shorts and t-shirts with all the windows open

I'm sure your mum appreciates the food and the gesture/love behind it:)
I think whatever age you are, you're always your mother's son or daughter. Feeding your offspring must be a 'mum gene' or something. (I'm sure it's the same with dads as well, just maybe not with food - maybe fixing something at your home, doing a holiday airport run or whatever.)
And with your baking you're following the law of karma:A - 'what goes around comes around', 'As you sow so shall ye reap', 'It all evens out in the end'- call it what you will.
