Erm... *Blush*
Erm... *Double blush*
Not great... Not bad... But not great... I was hoping to be in a very different position to the one I am now in, when the lights went on this summer...
I've just spent an hour reading back through this thread and I'm ashamed of myself for not following through on things... Really not like me, but I think I just burned out... Even though I was warned, and laughed about how it would never happen, it clearly did...
Before I get into this properly again (if anyone is still willing to help) there is some news... I am going to be a Dad... Holy *&^%$£( SH**... I am going to be a Dad... 4 months on, and I still can't say it out loud without shivering...
More on that later, but just to let you all know, I couldn't be happier about it... As long as I forget how bankrupt I am going to be... :rotfl:Total Debt at LBM 30/05/2007: £28,720... I... Am... Calm...

Ok now babies don't HAVE to be expensive! You can get lots of baby things offered on www.freecycle.org. I got rid of my baby stroller that way, and I often see baby clothes offered, or high chairs etc. Secondly are you both tall? If so then a tip I had was to not buy the newborn size, as they will only be in it for 2 seconds! You can get great bundles that have loads of clothes in from ebay, and they will be hardly worn in the early ages, because babies grow so fast.
Also don't be proud. A lot of friends/family will offer you all sorts, clothes, buggy etc just put a big smile on your face and say thank you. Things you can't face using can go quietly to the charity shop. I had two friends give me 0-18month clothes, and apart from some really cute things I got, I didn't spend a penny on clothes until my oldest was almost 2! And no next, gap, etc are not that much better quality than Tesco, Asda etc so don't be brand conscious.
You could also ask family to donate equipment if they are well off.
Another thing I did was decide early whether to go the reusable or disposable nappy route. I went the disposable route, and joined all the baby clubs going. This way I got lots of samples and money off vouchers so I could try out the nappies and decide which was best for my baby. I also threw a pack of wipes, or cotton wool (you can wash baby bum with cotton wool and water and this save a fortune in wipes, though wipes are easier when you are out).
Also the best money saving idea is if your partner breast feed, so try your best to be supportive about this!
best of luck, do you know you are only having one?I want a job that is less than an hour driving away from my house! Are you listening universe?

And don't beat yourself up about not following through with things. You are back now and can use the impending happy news to focus yourself/partner on clearing as much debt as possible. So when you think ' can't be bothered to list on ebay tonight', use the birth as a motivator to get listing etc.
do you do pigsback.com to get vouchers. If not pm me and I will give you a referrer thread if you want. This means I get some money, but otherwise just go direct. And what about survey sites? You can both sign up to them so double the money.

Hi Panicking Hard
I've just spent the morning reading all of this.
Congratulations on your news! That wasn't what I was expecting when the last page took ages to refresh.
Obviously thats going to affect where you stand with your debts but you haven't posted for ages so we don't know where you are with your debts
