Does your Mum want to anonymously put £250 in my account too.....
No? Oh well!!
Re overpayments on the Egg Loan, the one we have allows us to pay as little off as we want - all done on-line with debit card so even if you only want to pay a fiver off then you can. No idea about any others though.

I still think you should sort it so that you're out of the loop of the mortgage - you don't need to have your name on it, yes, you completely trust her, but why do you need to be in that mortgage now your parents are helping? I'm sorry that I'm not getting it!!CCCS DMP:Feb 07

No probs... I'm not even sure I'm right...
The way I see it, if I can get the money in 7 days by staying on the mortgage, I will... It won't affect me at the moment, as I need no credit... EVER... so my name on there matters little for now...
If I want it all transferring into her name, deeds and all, it could take months and months... and will cost £000's, to administer, even then, for her to buy me out, I'd be sweating on the bank actually lending her it on her own... though they probably will...
If anything goes wrong in that, I would have to wait for it to sell... Christ knows how long this will take in this market, and she is fine staying there for as long as she needs, as it's close to work for her... I however, have £12k invested in a house I don't want, 100 miles from where I live and work, with debts that are crippling me... and will be even after M&D sort me out...
It's mainly a time thing... Hope that explains my head...
As for those asking for bank details to be passed on to my Mum... She probably would do it, so NO... HANDS OFF... SHE'S MINE... ALLLLLLL MIIIIIINE!!!!!:D;):D;)
Anyone have any thoughts on waiting a couple of months to credit check?

angela6834 wrote: »Have you thought about a full and final settlement for your debt....it would be a bit more complicated than paying the whole debt off but far more satisfying than paying yoru creditors everything they want.
This request would be best done coming from your parents.....some legal issue re the offer coming from you. But they would write to your creditors, explaining your problems but that they have a certian amount that they could help you with.
Rough example:
You have £25000 of debt over 5 creditors ( only example...I know these are not correct figures)
Your parents can lend you £15000. They write to the creditors offering to pay each creditor a portion of their debt.....on these figures it would be 60%. They would ask that they accept this on a full and final settlement and they do this on the understanding that your credit file is marked as settled and they so not pass the debt onto any collection agency.
If all your creditors agreed, your credit file would have the debt marked as satisfied....no one would be any the wiser that the whole balance had not been paid in full.
I work for the CCCS and have relevant letters etc, if you would like copies I can email them to you.
At first you might find that one may refuse etc, but if you then can go back and say others have accepted, they normally do too.....
It is not uncommon for creditors to accept this.
Let me know if you need any more details.....
Sorry that was a bit long........now have SRI!!!!:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
This all sounds great... BUT... I work in an industry HEAVILY regulated by the FSA... If I have ANY financial irregularities, personal or otherwise, it would be construed as potentially compromising my ability to provide a trustworthy service... Not that it EVER would, but that's the way the law is... and if I am ever declaired bankrupt, I would be summarily dismissed... If I hid it and they discovered it, it would be Gross Prof misconduct and might land me in court, depending on how they were feeling about it...
I get the feeling what you are suggesting would cross one (or more) of the lines I cannot overstep... Please... PLEASE correct me if I'm wrong...

angela6834 wrote: »As far as I'm aware that shouldnt affect your employment.....we advise bankruptcy, iva etc for clients to check contract of employment.....but a full and final is different.....your creditors are accepting this as full payments.....no one is any the wiser you have not paid the full balance off.... ( except your creditors concerned ) but it does not go as a black mark against you.....may not be the best thing if you are worried about your job but I will look further into it for you and double check just in case its a viable option for you......
