Aldi use Parking Eye to "manage" their car parks and Parking Eye have been taking people to court. So the news of yet another court loss for Parking Eye is heart warming. Why did they lose this time ? Because they don't have appropriate time sync software in place and security to ensure their remote cameras and back end application / servers are exactly the same time.
In other words their ANPR c...See MoreRichard Bluevein Why won't you comment on the unlawfulness of the current solution though ? Or do you not care about that ?

Richard Rushton Personally, I can't say that it gives me any cause for concern - I don't risk being 'charged' as I don't outstay my welcome. I don't choose to spend more time than necessary trawling through a supermarket; I go in, I buy what I want, I pay and I leave. Lets face it, Aldi stores are relatively small by comparison to the big four, it doesn't take huge amounts of time to get around the shop. I have no legal training and I don't feel qualified to comment on the legalities, however, I have an abundance of common sense and I choose to conform to the 'rules' set out on the signs rather than risk a 'charge' or at least the hassle of dealing with the having the 'charge' revoked.

Richard Bluevein So an "I'm alright Jack" attitude and bad luck to those that get trapped ? Even the many disabled people that gain assistance from parking forums because Aldi and Parking Eye ignore their appeals ? Nice.

Richard Rushton Regardless of my personal stand point and you are correct, I have little compassion for those who can't or choose not to follow the directions as set out on car parking notice but instead run to fb or MSE to complain even though following the directions which set out limitations or the requirement to inform a member of staff of your blue badge status would circumnavigate having ever received a 'charge notice' - you STILL haven't given a bona-fide alternative.
I suspect your arguments with him will all be in vain, bluePlease note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

And we have dear old Sarah once again defending PE's poor signage. What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?0

Just bumping it back to page one with this little gem that's just popped up on the FB page:-
Aldi has now promised Central Beds Council that it will remove the "Aldi Customers Only" signs from its car park in Dunstable and replace them with "2 hours free parking" signs. Whether it will actually do so remains to be seen: Biggleswade Town Council waited for so long for Aldi to correct its signs that it had to place the matter in the hands of solicitors (which I'm sure Biggleswade Town Council can well afford - NOT!)
Anyhow, this does not begin to get to the heart of the matter. It's not just a question of signs, Aldi has been ENFORCING its unlawful restrictions. So will Aldi be prosecuted? And will everyone who has received a £70 penalty get their money back? Watch this space...
And that situation at Dunstable has been going on for at least 18 months. What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?0 -
I see that our dear Sarah is still defending Aldi and PE over the above matter. And correcting poster's spelling as well. How petty! What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?0

Two anti-PE threads have been deleted on the FB page. The one above about planning permission, and one about Parking Prankster finding that Aldi are "PPing" witness statements:-
