I think you all need to stop this rubbish, Aldi is a great place to work and shop.

But not to park your car. Are you happy that Aldi are don't mind that PE charge customers up to £70 (or even take them to court) for parking a few minutes over the artificial time limits set by the store?

Well, hello Pen. For one moment I thought you were going to post something helpful for the people who have been scammed by Aldi and its agent ParkingEye.

Aldi, the company fined for altering parking times in their car park in Brighton against planning permission (I think that's called a criminal offence) and ParkingEye who were found guilty of the tort of deceit. Here's what the Judge said:
The Judge not only found that the third letter contained falsehoods but that those falsehoods were deliberately made by the relevant ParkingEye executive, albeit without dishonesty. Hence the Judge found ParkingEye was guilty of the tort of deceit on those occasions when the third letter was sent on its behalf. ParkingEye does not challenge this decision.”

Aldi may be a great place to work and shop - but not to park!

    Anything more to add?

Hmmmm...it could be again, if they kick Parking Eye out of their car parks. :)

Simple question for you Penny, why?
When posting a parking issue on MSE do not reveal any information that may enable PPCs to identify you. They DO monitor the forum.
We don't need the following to help you.
Name, Address, PCN Number, Exact Date Of Incident, Date On Invoice, Reg Number, Vehicle Picture, The Time You Entered & Left Car Park, Or The Amount of Time You Overstayed.

To me, the PR company behind the facebook page is trying to do a good job of this:

    By deleting the anti-Aldi posts

There is a good illustration of the fact that Aldi's PR company don't read the posts. Somebody posted this :-

I love the pickled snail scrotums. Delicious.

Only to get this automatic answer:-

    Thanks for sharing Andrew!

Or perhaps ALDI do actually sell this product!

Wouldn't think there'd be enough of them to share :)

    Forget parking for a minute.

I have looked on Aldi Facebook page at many of the comments and pictures. I have to say that the quality of some of the products on sale, with out of date stickers, maggots in dog food, wilting fresh produce gives me severe doubts about much of what they have on offer.

And I put that down to poor local management and staff, possibly understaffed to keep costs down.

I occasionally use the MK branch, thankfully free from PPCs, but severely limit my purchases. The shopping experience is far from fulfilling and I am sorry for people who are obliged to use them as their main supermarket.

But judging by how full their car park is on the occasions I have been there, I am in a minority, so it's horses for courses ( and take that last bit how you like) :rotfl::rotfl:
  • OMG !!!! So the latest POPLA success appeal is posted onto Aldi's Facebook page and this is the response from their so called PR company Weber Shandwick ( seriously, how do they make money ??? ) :

"Hi David, thanks for sharing this with us. We are pleased everything is sorted. Thanks again, Aldi UK Facebook Team"
