In fact I just posted "Are you pre-moderating posts?" and guess what - it hasn't appeared! What a surprise! Fortunately the comments boxes are not moderated ;-)0

Just a quick bounce to highlight how much Aldi don't really care. Someone complained about a charge on Facebook because she overstayed 13 minutes because her baby needed changing. Weber "Useless" Shandwick pointed them to Aldi Customer Non-Service. Surprise surprise - no response.
Oh well Parking Eye - it's a nice thought that I'm going to cost you £27+VAT ....... again :rotfl: The VENDETTA continues"The darkest places in hell are reserved for those who maintain their neutrality in times of moral crisis." - Dante Alighieri0 -
Here's a very eloquent post about the Aldi/PE operation in Mold, and a very apposite reference to Ms O!Costas Forparking Hi Donut - one customer was so exasperated he sent them this
Hi
to begin with I must say this whole episode remind me of Chariots of Fire - can't think why at the moment as I don't recall there being car parking charges in that film. Maybe it's the perseverance and dedication to the cause.
Anyway, apologies for having to send this to you but as I am sure you are aware Ms Organ of your "Parking Management Department" never discloses her email address. I was going to write again to her as being an optimist I had hoped she might change her mind on my parking fine. I think though my time is better spent selecting numbers for the national lottery as I do have a 1 in 14 million chance of winning that. I am sure not disclosing her email address is just an oversight on her part and not because she is worried that her email would end up with more messages per day than her beloved Parking Eye sends out tickets. I trust you will forward this onto her,(only out of courtesy mind as I never get all my questions answered and would not like to presume that it would be any different this time). Incidentally I randomly came up with the slogan "'Fine' a little, lose a lot". More on this later.
I must say though that I find it disappointing that Ms Organ has refused to answer my query which has been requested on more than one occasion that she details the quantifiable losses that my staying over the 2 hours parking has entailed. Poor girl, must be very overworked.
I have noted the many internet postings of dissatisfied Aldi CUSTOMERS....or perhaps I should say former customers. By overstaying our welcome, we get charged £70 or £40 if we are nice people who like to pay on time. Now my understanding (limited obviously as Ms Organ has detailed several times that Aldi are doing nothing wrong) is that the charges were introduced to make sure there are parking spaces available and that people are not just using it as a free car park only to shop elsewhere (the irony of course being that that is what the people you indiscriminantly fine are now doing). I must confess I see the logic in stopping people using it to shop elsewhere. Make sure your own customers can park. What I simply do not understand is how by using a virtually empty car park in the evening when all other shops in Mold bar Tesco and Homebase are closed actually affects your core business (which I assume is still food sales and not being a direct competitor to NCP). I suppose us many disgruntled people who have been given parking charges could use your land to park when we are drowning our sorrows in the nearby wetherspoons but hey I can just drive a few yards up the road to shop at another four letter worded German establishment and buy my beer there and in comparison to said wetherspoons I am spending a little and saving a lot.
Of course this is actually the result of the manner in which you fine people. Now in the original planning document Flintshire County Council said you could not charge people on Sundays unless you open on Sunday......(I'm hoping you can see where this is going).....in other words when there is demand for the car park. Again I can see the logic in that. Flintshire want to generate revenue from their car parks, I get that. Of course they only do this when there is demand for the car park.
Now then, who in their right mind would park in the Aldi car park in Mold KNOWING that there is a potential charge when there is a free council car park alongside? (Please be aware that this is in no way a question as to whether I am in my right mind or not, although having had virtually the same response from Ms Organ now on a number of occasions I am certain I know what is in her mind in relation to this "No surrender" - it is near D-Day after all). I won't bore you with whether I could see the signs or not. Or whether I read them or not. However the more I think about them the more I think I could find a use for them. Hmmm maybe not, a £40 fine is bad enough.
Anyway, as I am now losing the will to live over this you will be pleased to hear that I will not be pursuing the refund of my £40 any further. Ms Organ can sit at her desk safe in the knowledge that the Marginot Line is still intact (sorry to keep on the war theme but its been in the news alot - oh much like yourselves locally actually - although obviously one story was about fighting them on the beaches and the other was for trying to fight the beaches or some similar sounding word). Neither for that matter will I be shopping at your establishment for I fear that should the urge to have another coffee in McDonalds with a friend become too much I could once again find myself short of the cost of 15 or so cups of Costa's coffee (which I prefer by the way, but the walk from your car park into Mold itself would guarantee a parking charge nearly every time (even late at night when no one else is using it)). Drink a little - costa lot - this slogan is kind of growing on me.
So I shall take my business elsewhere. The £50 a week a spend on groceries or thereabouts. Now I teach maths so that works out at £2600 a year. Shall I talk gross or net margin? Or shall we keep it simple and say that's a 10% profit. £260 in lost profit every year. Perhaps I shouldn't have said that. It seems my initial reaction to your quantifiable losses are incorrect. I can sleep well after all - knowing that by paying £40 I have actually not had to incur the £260 quantifiable losses your really will incur.
Oh yes, Chariots of Fire......Eric Liddel - get it?

Aldi in Canterbury have a similar massive banner at driver eye height at the entrance which even I admit you would have to be blind to miss. However the rest of the signs well...Newbie thread: go to the top of this page and find these words: Main site > MoneySavingExpert.com Forums > Household & Travel > Motoring > Parking Tickets, Fines & Parking.
