Another gem from Aldi's Facebook site from somebody who think they know the law:-

And just to set the record straight supermarket car parks are covered by the road traffic act not classed as private land any more.
What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?

A lot of missinformation from people who think they know it all. Some of these people just don't get it. Parking Eye only does over stays or ones who haven't entered their reg number in. Very few if any of their cameras cover disabled bays etc
When posting a parking issue on MSE do not reveal any information that may enable PPCs to identify you. They DO monitor the forum.

Name, Address, PCN Number, Exact Date Of Incident, Date On Invoice, Reg Number, Vehicle Picture, The Time You Entered & Left Car Park, Or The Amount of Time You Overstayed.

That is true if there is an accident and an insurance claim is instigated, but in terms of PPC tickets its nonsense.

If it were the case Aldi etc would be getting Councils to undertake traffic management, but as the Council don't own the land they can't. They tried it at our local Asda and it failed due to this issue.

That is going to a ripe one for the scammers, you go into the entrance where parking eye will have cameras, go over by farmfoods spend a couple of hours there , then leave and you get a ticket, even though you weren't in Aldi's part of the car park, a recipe for disaster. And look where it is, in the middle of somewhere that is unlikely to be abused by the looks of things

Indeed it will as there is no separate parking areas for each of the stores.

Be interested on what the signs say on this, also whether its the landowner if its not the retailer who is responsible

Thanks, saw it, better than the average and barely a "fine" in sight, though they did get the popla adjudication a bit mixed.
I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.
