With respects, show us in the rules of use of the forum that says we cannot quote people, or put a name to that quote? If the said moderators are coming here with cryptic messages then they should explain themselves, we are not bloody mind readers! When posting a parking issue on MSE do not reveal any information that may enable PPCs to identify you. They DO monitor the forum.
We don't need the following to help you.
Name, Address, PCN Number, Exact Date Of Incident, Date On Invoice, Reg Number, Vehicle Picture, The Time You Entered & Left Car Park, Or The Amount of Time You Overstayed.

Stroma. I totally agree with you. I was merely hypothesising on the reason. I could only see it being Onesie because the linkdin to Ms Whatsername was removed.0

It's not the specifics that I'm debating. In general I believe that forum mods on any forum don't have to explain themselves. Essentially, we're on their patch; it's their bat and ball. If we don't like it we can walk.
En extract from the rules:
Why are posts removed?
The Forum Team's resources must be focused on the MoneySaving areas of the site.
Sometimes, on-the-spot decisions are made to protect the site. We don't have the resources to confer with our (very expensive) lawyers on every subject.
The Forum Team's remit is simply "if a post may be unlawful, it has to go". This doesn't necessarily mean it's wrong, but sometimes they have to take that decision. However, we are here as a consumer site and we will endeavour to protect fair and honest comment about companies - if it's in the consumers' interest.
If you disagree with a Forum Team decision, please email your appeal to webmaster@moneysavingexpert.com. Please don't question Forum Team decisions on the public forum; they're unlikely to see your post anyway. This includes criticising individual members of staff. It's our job as an employer to protect our staff. Any such posts shall be removed, and the appropriate action taken.Apparently I'm 10 years old on MSE. Happy birthday to me...etc0 -
Why do posters continue to believe that the moderators have to explain anything?
This forum is provided free to us. It has a set of rules that we have to abide by. If the moderators believe we are breaking, coming close to breaking, or even if they don't have time to work out whether we might be breaking the rules or not, they can delete posts and threads.
The forum isn't a democracy and like all other forums, the mods don't have time to analyse every contentious post.
I'm going to make one single post on this subject and then back out - I don't want to get banned BUT :
MSE mods ( and I'm not highlighting any particular mod(s) ) very rarely enter into discussion when they remove posts or ban posters. They tend to refuse to back up their decisions or point you to a specific rule you have broken. Generally when you start asking questions they don't even respond.
I know this is effectively a private site / forum BUT it is a consumer forum and by not engaging or by being too protective they damage the point of a consumer site. It makes MSE "corporate" and exactly what MSE was set up to fight.
MSE runs scared when PPCs complain. I'd suggest this is highlighted by the current "you can't even post details that are in the public domain". That suggests we can't even quote papers or politicians.
It's ridiculous and some people need to grow a pair otherwise MSE will become nothing but a corporate puppet."The darkest places in hell are reserved for those who maintain their neutrality in times of moral crisis." - Dante Alighieri0 -
It still doesn't answer the question, it maybe their site , but without users it won't be much of one. Posting cryptic messages then expecting people to suss it out like a crossword is not the way to go. And asking what can be posted is a fair question as people don't want to bannedWhen posting a parking issue on MSE do not reveal any information that may enable PPCs to identify you. I have had a long running saga with Aldi. I admit I overstayed in a (half empty) car park on wet weekend while I went to get a coffee, but wasn’t amused to get a £70 charge through the post sometime after (nearly double what I’d spent in the store). With help from this forum I appealed to POPLA and surprise, surprise my appeal was upheld. While this was going on I have been trying to engage with Aldi. I have had thee phone calls, sent four letters and I cannot believe how much they lack in customer thinking.
I ended up speaking to a lady who describes herself as Store Operations Director. She at least had the grace to apologise but would not admit that my case displayed any weaknesses in their policies, procedures and even believes it is customer friendly. The policies in question would have involved me driving two hours there and back to the store in question, as I had paid cash and no longer had the receipt. The policies also made Aldi refuse to compromise even though I said I was sure I would win at POPLA. I honestly used to like Aldi and probably spent £500 or so per annum there, but clearly no longer.
My summary of the conversation is that Aldi have no intention of changing their policies, procedures or relationship with Parking Eye. She said some rather surprising things to me, such as:
- 80% of appeals to POPLA involving Aldi are turned down (this was the most surprising and I asked her several times but she stuck to this).
- She referred in her letters and conversation with me to “fines” for overstaying (which clearly legally they are not)
- She believes there is no brand damage to Aldi from this – rather there is a small group of people (I guess I now have the honour of being in this – not from choice) who are stirring things up (my words not hers).
- She believes Morrisons and the NHS are in dialogue with Parking Eye about contracting with them for parking management.
The purpose of the post is to ask with help for some research I am doing for an article on how companies perceive the brand damage done by parking companies and what their response is in terms of changing their policies and procedures. There is a lot of interest now in this topic from consumer magazines.
Could you contact me with any examples you have of dealing direct with the client companies of Parking Eye, specifically:
- Brief synopsis of the situation and the eventual outcome
- Your view of the client company’s policies and procedures before your interaction with them
- Your view on whether the client company envisages any change to these (e.g. it’s now quite public that the Lake District Park Authority are going to change their provider).

Morrisons do use parking eye at a couple of their sets.
I bet those popla appeals at aldi that involve GPEOL are 100% win for the motorist:)
Obviously word about the aldi Facebook page has got round:)Proud to be a member of the Anti Enforcement Hobbyist Gang.:D:T0 -
typing the words aldi / parking eye into google do tend to bring this site up, inc this posting0

I did that in November over another matter and the e-mail was deleted without read.
it might be their forum Steve but it is nothing without its members. Asking for rationale behind decisions which relate to issues that don't appear to break forum rules is a reasonable request which the forum should address."You should know not to believe everything in media & polls by now !"

Good evening everyone
Several posts have been removed from this thread that appear to border on harassment of an individual. That is never appropriate on our Forum.
We have asked users of this board in the past to help us keep content up by keeping comments appropriate.
The thread asking you to do that is here, which has been a sticky since it was posted and is still linked to from the top.
Regular users of this forum, please can you point newbies to that thread to help us.
Thank you!Could you do with a Money Makeover?
