I'm sorry for her but it was really down to her to establish that she needed the licence before buying it.
One to put down to experience, I'm afraid.Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0 -

Any ideas?
She's going to need to be more persistent with them. I would follow the complaints process outlined on their website. It's not acceptable for the Call Centre of a public body to be so unhelpful regarding one of their own processes. (I have a feeling that their policy is a maximum of 12 months refund).
As for evidence, could your daughter ask Sky to confirm that there was never a contract with them at the address concerned? It's not absolute proof, but it's a start.0
