Noisy Neighbours

I've gotta say I think thats really quite harsh, calling the police on them before even bothering to talk to them. If that is the worst noise complaint you have, I would think most of the UK would give their back teeth to swap with you!
I doubt they know they are disturbing you, but by not acting like a grown up and dealing with it yourself you risk p!ssing the neighbours off, which could lead to it getting much worse. Seriously, have a read of some of the noisy neighbour threads on here to see just how much worse it could get.
Even if you got EH round, if the noise is as quiet and infrequent as you say it is, there is no way they will get anything you could use against your neighbours anyway.0 -
Jesus, some people are so picky. What's wrong with them having a party three or four times a year? Why so miserable?poppy100

I was just asking if there's anything sensible I can do.
Obviously, I know a lot of people get it worse.
Get yourself some good earplugs first, or even download a white noise app to your phone, some of them are pretty good.0 -
I agree with just popping round next time they start and asking if they'll turn it down. Do this every time they start.
Having been on the end of noisy neighbours i can sympathize on this.Back on the trains again!0 -
Tell them to turn the music down a bit after say 11pmThis is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

It's so much easier to be tolerant of your neighbours' noise if you actually bother to get to know them. Someone you're friendly with is far less irritating than a stranger."Growth for growth's sake is the ideology of the cancer cell" - Edward Abbey.0

Annoying and disruptive as is is for you- 3 to 4 times a year hardly warrants calling them "noisy neighbours".
You mention you live in a quiet area, well you can't expect perfect silence all the time, you mention the music is faint also?
I realise you aren't happy with the situation but honestly I don't think you have a leg to stand on and are being unreasonable.0 -
3 or 4 parties a year which last until the amazingly late time of 2am.
First world problems, they're such a bother..................
....I'm smiling because I have no idea what's going on ...:)0 -
Either go round and ask them to turn it down, or put some Abba on at 6am when you're getting ready for work.Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -
There is so much selfishness around? Some people dont care less about their neighbours?:footie:0
