ff - Me thinks you are right! Them birds are getting mighty fat :eek:
The two pigeons peck around underneath my feeders (have quite a few ), they get quite a feast and can barely take off now - excess baggage etc!!:eek::D :rotfl:

Have topped up now but you are right about the wee beasties around for them to feed on.

Has anyone noticed decrease in numbers of native ladybirds this year? We used to have loads of them visiting over the years but haven't seen any yet. Miss the wee spotted critters. Plenty of stag beetles around :eek: I'm fine with them until they fly then I turn into a complete wimp :eek:

There is an article in daily mail about ladybirds, very interesting.

Alfie - I haven't seen any ladybirds this year either come to think of it. Loads of bees though which is OK when they are on the plants but they have a habit of sitting on the grass and Lottie won't go fetch her ball, stupid dog she is a total wimp but I love to to pieces.

Good luck with the lottery Alfie/iluvcats and anyone else who does it.

Think you are right firefly there is plenty about for the birds at the moment. As I have probably mentioned before I have a lovely bird table that DD2 got for us but the birds won't come anywhere near because of the dogs giving chase.

am lucky here this year alfie, we've quite a few ladybirds :j
there's a big nettle patch down the bottom end of the garden
& there's loads of them on there :j:j

pigeons do that with ours as well soon as the little ones
fly down to feeders all the pidgys are waiting underneath :eek:
:rotfl: least they clear up :rotfl:then the magpies come followed by the starlings :eek:

all great fun watching them

My sister has arrived at my parents she is spending a week with us and shes coming to see me today as she is on her way

Sorted now for Olly tomorrow,got picnic rug,drink of cocacola in fridge cold,dad has to bring my ticket and I have my camera ready for any photos I can take so excited! even got a sun hat and need to take sun block as it will be hot,even got my sunglasses too!
