Emily_Rachel wrote: ». Read the book or watch the programme! Talk to your doctor too. The reason I started 5:2 was, yes to lose weight, but also to help my body fight the cancer I have. Just wish I had known about it before my second chemo session last year too, as it is said by some studies to help the effectiveness to fast just before chemo. Anyway, the chemo worked, I'm in remission at the moment, have been for a year, and am taking Avastin to help prolong that. The fast diet or 5:2 (I actually try to 4:3) :is yet another arrow in my weaponry. And it really helps that it is only THAT day you have to diet, the next you can eat what you like. Bet you can't wait to start now! Good luck one and all.
Hi Emily Rachel,
our posts crossed - really glad to see things going well with you :T - I remember your supportive post last year when I first started posting.
Yep I am in the need to lose weight but no energy to exercise yet after the chemo/radio/steroids and tamoxifen making me pile on even more pounds, also wondering how much the extra weight causing tiredness - has been a perfect storm.
My friend told me about 5;2 and she and her husband have lost weight. Her hubby keen cyclist and always needed next high spec bike to "go faster" well he is flying now - thanks to losing a couple of stone (they have been doing it since last August). :rotfl: She's happy as its stopped his constant bike upgrade..
Interestingly I have had more energy the last couple of week's - I had put it down to the sunshine affecting my mood but maybe its the 5;2, that makes sense..... so thanks for that ER.
I have been having 2 eggs lightly scrambled - (no milk) and sometimes slice of ham for breakfast. Then skip lunch but starving by teatime so I have an early tea (some protein and steamed vegetables) but yes funny how you go to bed hungry but wake up full. I need to be more prepared as last fast day I made the mistake of reading up the 5;2 recipes for variety on the day but that just made me hungry and I gave in and ate half a celebration bar. Still only slip in 4 weeks..... Loving the strawberries in jelly idea.
Good luck everyone:j and thanks for your update EmilyRachel.0 -
