LOL you can see on some sites how many have applied you know!! Wow!!!!

Plus when I have chased up for feedback some have told me how many they have had and they did not read mine.

I can assure you I am not making anything up but sure you think whatever you like.

My old co advertised and had over 200 and never read them all.

The sites that I cant see the numbers on obviously have the same people applying for all the same jobs and then add that in with the ones that have told me how many people applied.

Make that none as you think I am lying about the amount of people applying for roles that I do.

    LOL I am a GIRL!!!!!

And yeah yippee I have no job but I was on over £25k at my last job and I know what the going rate is for someone with my experience and been turned down for a job paying £33k as they said the role was too junior!

Every job pays something different and I am telling you all jobs I apply for have over 300 apply and that includes admin and retail jobs that I stand no chance in getting an interview for.

I know many people who are on half their pre-recession salary, although they held on or few years, and they aren't really even worth that.

Like I said, we took on someone who was an ex-sales person, mid 50s, was absolutely terrible at the job, and I mean terrible, to the point they were more of hindrance than a help. We took on the law graduate at the same time, fresh from uni, he is on the ball and took to it like a duck to water. Ironically the 50 year old was moaning the salary was too little and it was barely worth getting out of bed in the morning (clock watcher). The graduate has said he thinks the salary is too low for the job (we all know) but nonetheless comes to work on time and stays until the job is done. I don't expect him to stick around long TBH.

So even though the salary is poor, we are still getting quality applicants who have a strong work ethic. Apart from the salary and a somewhat lack of career progress there is little complaint about the actual role or atmosphere.

55 is very low. Must be ever a very specialist job or a very bad one at NMW

What was the job and where was it in the UK?

It was a public sector job, paying well over MW (just under £30k in fact) and yes, in the UK. Not a very specialist job - anyone with decent admin skills could meet the essential criteria.

No, not everyone can do admin. Still a very low response though - which was the point I was making. It is not the norm for all jobs to receive very high responses as you previously suggested. Your 'fact' in post two was erroneous and somewhat sweeping.

That's only from my experience applying for the jobs I am applying for and I wouldn't have made yours 56 people as I have no admin experience nor would stand a chance in the public sector as they like people with public sector experience.

How do you have no admin experience? Everyone has admin experience.
