Trespassing (believe it or not) is not a crime - it is a civil matter. I don't like cold callers either.
Have a read of this: http://www.guardian.co.uk/money/2007/jun/08/yourrights.legal

    Quotes from link "
Your home may be your castle but the law demands that you also take the right steps and behave responsibly when dealing with trespassers and other unwanted intrusions on to your property.
Trespass is defined as the unauthorised interference with the possession of your home and garden. The law says you have the right to decide what is left on your property, as well as the right to keep people out.

    Reasonable force -

If someone trespasses on your property despite due warning the practical remedy is to ask them to leave. If they don't you are entitled to use no more than reasonable force to eject the trespasser."

1 - The right step has been taken by putting up a sign saying NO COLD CALLERS!
2 - In calling they are in my Garden and my Right to keep them out is displayed by a sign saying NO COLD CALLERS!
3 - As it is they who get abusive and aggresive and are by then aware they are unlawfully trespassing, this makes their actions threatening behaviour, which is a criminal offense, and to which I am also entitled to use equally reasonable force!

I ALSO BELIEVE THE QUOTE MENTIONED HAS ALSO NOW BEEN REVIEWED AND THE STATEMENTS NOW ARE NOT ACCURATE IN RESPECT OF REASONABLE FORCE AND PROTECTION OF YOUR PROPERTY AND HAVE BEEN PROVEN IN LAW BY ACTUAL CASES WHERE EXTREME OUTCOME HAS OCCURED?

THATS the TEETH of my GSD who is under control unless he is also ignored also and happens to want to PROTECT ME AND MY PROPERTY!;)
This WOULD be the case AFTER the POLICE would have been called to eject a trespasser with threatening behaviour:)

In all honesty, most do leave reasonably, but only after being advised of the sign, but I have also watched those who operate in gangs and seen 1 see the sign and not call, and another of his brainless mates say well I'm going to call(clearly premeditated), and also a few who HAVE BEEN VERY AGGRESSIVE let alone ignorant from the outset:mad:
