I may give etsy a go as it's cheap to list. I wonder how I would promote it? Any answers appreciated as I really do need the money.....

Off to see very elderly neighbours whose phone has still not been fixed & just had one of those impossibly frustrating phone calls with BT Bangalore who want me to accept responsibility for costs if it is their phone that is at fault & not the line.............GGGGGGGGrrrrrrrrrrrr

How to ruin a perfectly good day - just phone BT.

Choille, I've only heard about Etsy anecdotally, that sales are very slow compared to Ebay.

Ebay have brought in a new search engine, Cassini, which may impact against some sellers. We've had a poorish month, lower than average conversions to listings, but tbh its partly because we've upped some prices and partly because I feel we bought very badly at last auction.

But Ebay is tops for traffic, and how else would I have sold a tiny but pricey 1922 camera to a Chinese buyer? And got top whack for oriental pottery? I'll be sticking with the Bay and probably opening a shop when the new FVF rules are introduced in September

    evening peeps.....

well i didnt get to play biggles..:(

too low a cloud base apparently and not safe.

so i went for a meal instead [fella was driving me] and had a few voddies :o

LIR.... this likkle pony im going to see looks a sweety, 12yrs old, 11hh, looks exmoory. been with family since 3. they are having to long loan because of mothers illness. they also have a 14.2hh cob which they would love em to go together.
first Q.... if i got that too, and got my confidence/practice back whilst still working with ruby, then when ruby's broken/schooled she would have a "friend" to ride out with . [i think leaving mini's will be a problem for a lone hack.] friends daughter can ride cob then and hopefully little pony/little girl too later on.
DO YOU THINK THIS MAKES SENSE OR AM I BEING DAFT !!

rhiwie.. agree its been quiet on the bay, I had forgotten that the summer months are quiet, but didn't realise how quiet. Then I realised most of the high street have mega sales on, so I am selling vintage stuff on my other account.. which I have some bids on stuff, and quite a few watchers, but that means nothing..

I haven't looked at the implications of the final figure fee being paid on postage yet, BUT as you say where else can you get a huge potential traffic viewing your stuff. There are loads of people moaning about it..

Read the link Maggie....rather a lot of TLAs! But I get the gist and anything which gives new leads to research , which seems complex, must be good. ;)

I think you must be referring to the link Better Days sent about the retuximab trials. To be honest I wonder now if I have ME as have few probs with my arms, but my legs just give up on me when I try to walk. Our garden is about 20 metres long according to OH, but have to have a chair half way as well as one at the end to sit on to rest up.

A dear friend of mine was struck with ME whilst teaching in our primary school, but she wasn't the first. She was an outstanding practitioner and only just over 30 years of age. A huge loss, though she re-trained part time and now does a limited amount of 1:1 with disabled children.

Great to hear your friend was able to retrain and do such worthwhile work. :) But sad she had to give up her loved job. Interesting she wasn't the first - outbreak?
