    Feels like autumn here too.

Warm if sunny, but chilly early mornings and the evenings. Bit of a nip in the air as well.

Only two of the chickens are laying, put it down to the hot weather which we did have, hopefully they will get back in their stride soon. Have found a neighbour just a few doors away who will look after them while we are on our hols in Sept, in exchange for looking after their cats when they are away. Everyone happy :D

Doorbell rang this morning - young lad at the door - have you got a white dog? Daft as a brush lurcher had escaped and was standing in the middle of the road looking gormless. Not easy to catch him, (and of course it started to rain), but a lovely couple stopped and helped me :A I explained that he stands in the road looking lost as he has brain damage and gets confused. Oh they said, we have just been to a nursing home with an elderly lady who has a similar problem :(

Rummer, hope you get your flea problem sorted. It is horrible when you can't get rid of them. Spring to Autumn I treat the cats regularly with Stronghold, and spray the house once a year with Indorex (don't breathe it in). Dogs get done with Advocate. Used to use Frontline, but it doesn't do the trick any more. Despite all this I still get the odd bite, and then I get paranoid about every little tickle on the skin.

Very kind of you to ask LIR.

Much better thank you for getting lots of rest - since the family left, staying in bed with Hugh Laurie watching my 'House' boxset has helped enormously :D:D:D

We have two standard bays at our pedestrian entrance, with tree ties to a couple of substantial fence posts! Not very elegant, but they stay upright. :o

Fleas: Don't see that many here, but have to watch for ticks. We had carpet moths but managed to deal with them more easily than expected. I always knew my Dad's bequest of about 8 packs of ant powder would come in handy! :rotfl:

Digger, dumper and whacker have arrived, but there is confusion over how long we have hired them, and as usual around here, no paperwork! :(

It's been a bad day for communication: I spent half an hour digging a hole in entirely the wrong place, after getting instructions via Chinese whispers. Maybe your dog was just responding to something in the air today, Better Days.

A trailer-load of logs randomly turned-up this afternoon, all of them ash, so that was good. :D

We'd ordered 3 loads, but the young man asked, "Do you want any more?" He looked blank when I explained this was the first of three. It was about 2 years ago that he had a serious head injury, so I wonder if it has affected his memory. Messages we've given him haven't got through either.....:(

We have problems with our log deliveries too Dave.

The chap we order from seems to work on the basis that we only really, really, really want the logs if we ring up, he says he will deliver them in 3 days, and then we ring back 4 days later to ask where our logs are :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:Then they get delivered, in another 3 days, if we are lucky.

The lamb seems to have sort of buckled a bit today. It's a long acting penicillin that she had so there's nowt much else I can do really.

Feel a bit jiggered today as I had a house to clean. Came home & after checking the aimos went to bed & am not long surfaced.

Still haven't got a gist of loading photos.

CTC - Hannah Hauxwell did a series of documentaries a long time ago. It was most interesting, but she had a hard life.

She got a house in the town & she just kept turning on & off the tap - amazed at running water.

Choille, if you go to Tinypic....

    http://tinypic.com/

you can press 'browse' there to open your pictures folder.
Click on the picture you want, then choose a size if you wish, then press 'upload.'

You'll probably have to type something or copy some text to prove you are human, but then the word 'Uploading ' should appear.

Your picture appears when uploaded on the right of the screen and some codes appear in boxes on the left. You copy the code labelled 'forums & message boards' (or something like that) and paste it into your post here.

    That's it. :)

    Beautiful pic Dave. Furry bundles.

Still haven't managed to do the upload!!!!

This sounds a bit dense - DOH. How do I copy & paste when I haven't got that bar on my screen. Using the laptop these days as the PC has gone deaded.

If you have generated an image code in the Tinypic box, you just highlight it*, then right click to copy. Finally, paste it straight into the text box here.

You don't need to use the address bar, normally near the top of a page.

*I'm assuming you have a mouse, not just the trackpad.
