Cannot work link ( dodgy connection in the weather here) but we DO plan to recycle water here, :). We are only at phase one with this.

Biodisc a/klagesters ( which planners prefer to septic tanks now) should produce potable water.

They do use electricity. But that could be provided via renewable source.

Yup, going down to about 10c here, which is not August weather at all, but the weekend looks dry and good for our digging and caravan drain work , so I mustn't grumble. :)

We're hoping to use the earth we remove when levelling the site, for filling in other holes and depressions around the place. :D
  • Temperatures are expected to plunge this weekend as the Bertha weather system brings down cold air from Scandinavia in its trail

The Met Office said the mercury could drop as low as 2C (35.6F) in Scotland by Monday

    Autumnal feel about today.

Yesterday's Press & Journal had quite a front page & inner spread on our landslides in Wester Ross. The Loch still looks brown where all the silt has washed into it

Wish I could post photos. How do I?

I post pictures, my own ones, using photo bucket.

You upload them from the computer and then it gives lots of link options, including one for message boards.

You can do them to an account or just one at a time for free. ( I do mine on an app for free on an acc, but did one at a time when I used a PC)

I have noticed the nights getting colder over the last 2 weeks, and def getting to feel like Autumn..they have given a nice weekend though.

Done a bit more 'market research' and took more samples around.. so 2 people said they will get back to me by Monday..so fingers crossed the little business idea will be able to get some pennies in...

I am trying to forward think of things that will bring in a small income from the ranch, and we still be able to do when we are older, and will not be heavy graft etc...

started reading the Hannah Hauxwell book, so I bought the DVDs, watched them last night, what a lovely lady.. I thought hubby would be bored, but he was chuckling away at some of her comments...
If anyone wants to borrow it, I can post it on for you to watch..

My herb garden is the slowest thing in the world.

I cannot believe we're paying someone becUse we thought it would be quicker and easier. Easier yes....and I am sure finished result will be very good, he seems very precise, but its achingly slow. DH would done a boders job weeks ago.

Anyway, the beds are marked out. The gardener has strongly advised we do not go three tiers high, only two, and added a quirk to the design. I need three 'central focal points' now, especially that have good structure for winter. They must have quite small surface areas at base.

I thought standard bays, but I always kill them, and it will be in a cold draft from air pumps, so seems especially risky.......but ideal......being structural, height giving and herby.

I could just get three pots for the top, though base narrow pots are always risky........pots as a feature seems very grown up. DH and I are now very middle aged I guess. :(
