I see the old autocorrect is at it again! :rotfl:
I can tell you now, growing an assistant doesn't work. I've tried it, twice. Both times they just did the basic training, started to become useful, and then legged it!
Must say it was fun teaching them though.......
I know the Rumlet will bring much joy and, with any luck, he or she will inherit an uncanny natural aptitude with the Fiskars weed puller!
:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::T:T:TLOVE this post.....
As yes kiddie winkles will help, but get to an age, where they don't do s@d all to help:rotfl:Work to live= not live to work0 -
Oh my word, how thrilling, Rummer! Congratulations!
Now that my girls are three and first born is nearly seven, babies are to be enjoyed vicariously.
I'm now desperate to ask you loads of nosey baby and personal questions that I would never have dreamed of prying about when we were just doing gardening chat
It's all a bit stressful here again on the site. To the point I don't want to talk about it. Hopefully, things will change again soon.0 -

Sorry to hear that the build is causing you stress
I didn't think you would all be as excited as you have been, thank you all for celebrating with me :TTaking responsibility one penny at a time!0 -
Congratulations :j:j:j Rummer
What lovely news:D:D
It will be great to hear how the little Rumlet's personality develops and the tastes s/he develops when presented with scrumtious home grown food. Possibly best not to start with sprouts thoughIt is a good idea to be alone in a garden at dawn or dark so that all its shy presences may haunt you and possess you in a reverie of suspended thought.

"new forrest geldin just turned 4,ears he is 14hans,plus/sad sale due to me moven"
more fantastic "speek" found in an add :rotfl::rotfl:0 -
Massive congrats Rummer! :T:j:T:j Sooooo pleased for you! And luckily at the right time of year too, so you won't be carrying yourself and a heavy one around in the heat before you pop.
As I haven't been down that path before (my three are all step-kids) I won't be offering advice because I know naff all about being pregnant etc.
I like the nickname Rumlet though!
In other news, we've picked some cherries but there are still loads, Stella is doing a fantastic job of it again. Last year we had hardly any due to the rain swelling and bursting them before they were ripe, but this year they're perfect. And we've had our first peas and strawberries, but not many yet."...And if it don't feel good, what are you doing it for?" - Robbie Williams - 'Candy'0 -
Rhiwfield - sorry about DD feet that sounds so painful. Needs looking at like you say.
Must actually do summat instead of watching hardly any bids coming in - 2 out of 100 listings eeeeeeeeeeeek.
Ok, so DD1 X-rays clear BUT she has cellulitis, probably gained entry thru insect bite or burst blisters, and is on antibiotics with feet up, surrounded by daughters to make sure she gets plenty of rest!
DD2 has a broken toe
DS1 survived the Wellington earthquakes (though a little shaken) just as well as he's an Emergency Registrar :rotfl::rotfl:
And Ebay is as quiet as quiet can be. Loads of watchers, only a few bids.
Last hot day today, due to get another load of logs delivered for stacking and chimney swept and rope replaced on stove. Winter prep in full swing0 -
Babies everywhere! Seems Kate has gone in, finally poor thing imagine being overdue in this crippling heat!
Congrats Rummer! I too know nothing of having babies so come back to me in about 12-14 years and I'll tell you what I know about teenagers!
These are the only kids I'll have around now:
Picked these guys up yesterday, two girls and a wether, they're only about 6 months old, so friendly and really good fun, they've obviously been well handled and fussed, I love them already.
The girls will be for breeding next year and the boy will be company for my billy as he should be separated from the girls now for a while.
CTC will you message me too for the FB?!0 -
It must be a relief that your kids have things that are treatable, rhiwfield, though cellulitis looks pretty horrible!
My DD2 seems OK now. She's working as many hours as she can get, to start digging herself out of the student debt hole. It's not what she owes the nation, but what she owes me, minus the amount her older sister borrowed and didn't pay back! :rotfl:
The big van has its MOT tomorrow and we've already spent £600 on pre-MOT work. There's still a ??? over the steering rack, so if it fails on that, we'll have been guilty of hanging on to it too long. The cost of repair will then = what we'll get for it. I'll really miss being able to see over the hedges when it goes!
Looks like some much-needed rain this week, but maybe in some violent bursts. It hasn't rained properly since I started fishing, so I can't lose now....or maybe I can. More rain = more weeds and more mowing, so not much time to fish! Anyway, it will take ages for the aquifers to fill up.0
