CTC, surely not another break-in??
BD, sounds like you are well rid of the vendors but glad clinics are positive.
Like most people we're wilting in the sun, about 28C here atm. But had a quick trip to the coast and an ice cream, then picked up some nice cheese, ham and a freshly baked baguette and had lunch on the deck under the shade of an awning. Lovely views up the valley
With my back issues, now easing (drove today for first time in weeks :j), haven't listed much lately and sold even less. Corresponded with a Taiwanese over last two days on two items, gave detailed condition descriptions, agreed prices, amended listings and now he's gone quiet
Need to get some more items listed to finish in run-up to late August/early Sept when we see DS1's wedding followed by a week's break for us up north0 -

I bet the EA will VERY SOON;) get piddled off with those peeps BD, 'IF' you feel that was the right place for you, I would go back to the EA and say that you will offer ( a bit less than the last offer) and you have no chain and get the 'deal done' as quick as poss. your offer will only stand for x days, and this time 'if' it is excepted then go going back, house off market, and no pulling out etc..and if they do, and you have paid out for surveys etc, then you will bill the owners for the money spent.
and point out the stamp duty threshold etc
It might be worth a go.. and taking the gamble..
An offer conditional to a time limit and house off the market if/when accepted is the best you will do, but there's the question of whether it's worth involving yourself with people who are clearly unrealistic and subject to changes of mind.
Having had wobbly people in both sale and purchase, I'd say a property would need to be very good before I'd knowingly engage with similar sorts again!
Good to hear about progress with the back rhiwfield. :)CTC was telling Better Days about the earlier break in.0 -

Me and my big mouth, he's just bought them. So getting buyers atm from Australia, US, Mainland Europe and Asia but UK buyers' tablets/pcs/mobiles must have melted in the heat :rotfl::rotfl:
Alf, pace yourself now
Hot today, havent heard from DD1 today who got thru days 1 & 2 ok with the rest of the wing. Hate to think about state of the marchers feet in this weather, no doubt many will be plastered in tape and compeed. They start out very early morning, 2 am for some :eek:0 -
Well, I've had a pleasant day. Friend who I used to work with came round this afternoon bearing a lemon drizzle cake. :j
Really nice to have a break from houses and hospitals
And it is still lovely and warm.:j
Thanks all for your thoughts on what we should do about the house we offered on. The property is in a lovely spot, but the shenanigans with the EA is a discouragement from proceeding. My main worry is that if an offer was accepted (again!) that they would try and up the price again just before exchange. It is all getting a bit much and I think I will have a break from it all until after my op next week.
alfie 1 and rhiwfield - good to hear your pain is easing, chronic pain is no joke.
CTC - Ahh thanks for the explanation - sorry to hear about the burglary. Not good - I always think burglary is so lazy - why can't people work for what they want instead of pinching from those who do work hard?
DH is excited - he has just found out he has got a part in a local am dram production of 'And Then There Were None'. He usuaally does the panto every winter and last year he had a part in 'The Full Monty'. He was stopped in town earlier in the year and the woman said to her friend - 'I've seen him with no clothes on!' Ha, so have I and it is nothing to shout about :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:It is a good idea to be alone in a garden at dawn or dark so that all its shy presences may haunt you and possess you in a reverie of suspended thought.

:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:BD, re OH love him:rotfl::p he also has something in common with our Davesnave:D Panto!!!
Rhiwie as Davesnave said it was the one and hopefully the only one.
Alfie.. sounds as though you will have a fab time with your lovely gypsy friends...
Rozee, I really do need to do more exercise, as even though I am on the go most of the time, I don't do loads of exercise IYKWIM.
Had the sandblaster back actually I phoned a sandblaster for another quote, and it turned out it was the same guy who gave us a quote before, but this time he quoted £200 less for the one wall:D, so over the weekend we will try and get the large bits of concrete out of between the stones, and if everything goes to plan the front of the house will be sandblasted on Wednesday. And then we will move the scaffolding to hack off the 'leaning' wall, so then the stone mason can see what is what..etcWork to live= not live to work0 -

Did you watch any of our DVD CTC, or did you have something else more exciting, like some paint drying somewhere? :rotfl::rotfl:
For Better Days, here's a quick reprise of my role as Queen Victoria, though why they chose me to play a dumpy little woman is quite beyond me!0 -

Tell me about it! For the first time ever, the outdoor and indoor temperature readings, taken on the shady north facing side of the house, were reading the same....just over 30c.
Meanwhile, in the polytunnel, we went over 40c again.
It really isn't good for the plants; in fact some are showing signs of stress. I'm sure the toms aren't doing so well this year, but maybe I'm comparing an earlier date with a later one. I have a horrible feeling our pet blackbird is stealing them too!:(
The big barn is throwing up similar problems to those on the wood sheds, i.e. major timbers not as straight as I'd wish, but we have finally done the prep and so the Yorkshire boarding should now go on the back without a fight.0 -
It really isn't that warm here. Honestly. P'raps it's the coastal air?0

I'm sure coastal breezes and a cool sea will have their effect, but at 500' we normally enjoy a breeze too.
Right now, the air is dead and it's still 25c, outside and indoors. TBH it's not bothering me much; I seem to take the heat better than when I was younger and hot blooded! :rotfl:0
