We need one. We have so much to get through and if its easy its so etching I could do through the week. I just cannot organise myself and don't know what to buy.
I actually feel ATM like I need someone to come and help me see wood for trees with organising and prioritising stuff like purchasing and jobs etc, I feel.....overwhelmed not ATM with the physical (I feel really good today in fact) just I cannot see wood for trees and what card can be moved without bringing the house of cards down, (Not quite right analogy but cannot think of right one)
We have the oak to split and I think that will be heavy going.0 -
Used the grenade here, works on wet and dry wood. Also used an electric log splitter, very sad when it died. Now have a beast of a machine that gets hired out.

Sorry to hear of the bad news about the piggy and goats CTC and FK
:(
Makes my hen with a red bottom seem very minor. Have been putting on sudocream to see if it helps. Getting 3 eggs a day now - must be happy hens.
Went to the garden centre for a treat earlier in the week. The primulas smelt divine. The plus side of having an enhanced sense of smell - Mr BD couldn't smell them unless he stuck his nose right into the flowers  I did get bogged down on one of the paths which was made of gravel (I was in my powerchair) and Mr BD huffed and puffed as he extracted me and chair.
I so enjoyed browsing all the plants, got some laverteria - they flower their hearts out all summer if you get them in the right spot, some lupins for Mr BD (practically the only plant he knows), and some lavender to go near the raised beds. I've also ordered some perenial plug plants from T&M. Need to think about getting some seeds started off shortly. It is a good idea to be alone in a garden at dawn or dark so that all its shy presences may haunt you and possess you in a reverie of suspended thought.

LIR.... know exactly where you are coming from...I am like a rabbit in the headlights at mo, don't know what decision to make...etc... my head is just a whirl at the mo..
this is the log splitter we bought, its got 4 ton of pressure
http://www.machinemart.co.uk/shop/product/details/clarke-log-buster-5-4-tonne-log-splitter
we also bought the stand for it too.
If the are cut to size, all you do is plonk it on, and press a button, and that's it lol.. and it is so quick....
I know its a lot of money, but I personally think its worth it...
Might be worth signing up to their news letter/mailing list as now and again they send you a discount code etc...Work to live= not live to work0 -
Up to twenty five cm in diametre. That still leaves us a lot to do my hand,
.
It would certainly be good for lots though.
I think the main thing we need is man power ATM.
I'd really like to sort cake out. I've been looking at the natural swimming pools things and I cannot believe that its not possible to work it out passably oneself. But then my mind goes all fuzzy from too much thinking.. There is no point having scrub cleared and defended etc and then needing to get machinery BACK in. Far better to do as one hit. Because I'll need to get hedges planted.
A big thing for me will be the loss of trees. I love the trees and they add to the feeling of the place a lot. I understand shading is the enemy, but I wonder if some trees further from edge, maybe in hedge lines might be workable.
I am ok about losing the willows really, but I'd like some trees. Even diddly ones.0 -
LIR.. hubby puts the bigger bits on to split, but then put them back on again to split the split, if that makes sense.... I should imagine Lucielle will know of maybe diff makes, and ones that will do bigger diameter trees etc..Work to live= not live to work0

Sorry to hear all the animal woes - it's upsetting when things go wrong, disease that can strike without knowing what's wrong.
Had some roof sheets dropped off at the top of the track so had to carry them down. It's heavy stuff & OH can't really walk too well so it's a shuffle shoe do.
Supposed to come in heavy snow tonight....0 -

Choille hope you didn't get too much snow last night..
I must admit it does feel wired not having snow or a lot of hard frost this year...
I still browse the property auction sites etc.... don't know if its me, but it does seem the prices are rising on the 'do-er uppers' with land...Work to live= not live to work0
