I have a 'rough' idea what colour-ish:D I want to paint in the ranch, BUT that is a long way off yet.
Anyway a bit of news I have a tomato field:rotfl: seriously tomato plants everywhere,Hubby ment to take a pic, but forgot..
this is what you get when you got pigs that eat tomatoes:rotfl:
the seeds even had their own fertilser pack when they got 'planted':rotfl:
obviously my pigs don't like the plants, so I might lift some and pot them on... to see if I do get any tomatoes from them.. Now I could get used to this type of gardening:DWork to live= not live to work0 -
Whew! Lots to catch up on!
Better Days, this was obviously meant to happen, so don't worry too much. Either there's something better coming along soon, or your vendors will be back in a few weeks asking if you are still interested. I'm not you, but in that situation I would want a discount....like at least £5k off my previous offer, as the property would by then have been long on the market.
Nice quiz rhiwie....I got 3.
My cats are flea-free, but the vet was talking more lab tests today and possible operation to remove thyroid, but there isn't any hard evidence. Lab fees are already £75 and op would be £200.
I said we'd think about it, but -I don't think we'll be going down any of these routes. I remember with the ferrets, DD2 spent a minor fortune to prolong their lives by a few months, but it's difficult to say that she had value for money. Daisy is not in pain and she's eating/drinking normally. She spent all day today outside, sleeping in the shade, which is probably what I should have been doing!
Instead, I wasted hours trying to figure out how to connect one wood barn to another, thus gaining a bit of extra covered space. However, in the end, I had to give in to reason and admit I couldn't do it. Both barns are somewhat banana shaped and not parallel to each other, so I was on a hiding to nothing. This has all come as a sobering exercise to someone who gets twitchy if the string line shows an error of 1cm on outdoor jobs!
Thanks to those of you who commented about my feedback on the Bay. I wanted to be fair, but I also wished to ensure others were not swayed by photos that are, by seller's admission, not what he's sending out currently.0 -

You might be entertained by this house on Rightmove if you don't like wallpaper... It will do your head in! :rotfl: Especially look at Picture 9 - not only do the curtains match the wallpaper - bad enough - but THE CEILING IS DONE IN THE SAME WALLPAPER!!!:eek::eek:
(I only know this as DD2 told me about the ceiling after viewing)
It must feel horribly claustrophobic in that room when the curtains are drawn.:eek::eek:
I'm just wondering if they managed to find matching carpet! Urggghhh! Must ask DD what the carpet is like, need forewarning before I may see it.0 -

Much rather see you:j. Haven't seen you for ages, seen the doctor every week :rotfl:
Feeling ok actually, just having some crazy tests someone has decided are necessary because my guts are packing up and they think that might be compnnected to the thyroid (it was the brain problems two weeks ago, now it might be the thyroid as well, and they want to see if I malabsorb bile salts so are making me radio active for a week or so to see if I stay radioactive a bit (which is good) or get rid of it all ( which is bad).
In another thread which davesnave used to visit we have been discussing what it is and isn't safe for me to do that week (everything seems to be safe, so long as I wash my hands after......) and my sex life has been pondered on in respect of nuclear medicine (because it was on my list of questions to ask the doctors but we have scientists on that thread, including two very good medical researchers and a physicist). And the nature of bio discs, lagoons and the half life of nuclear stuff they use in the medical test.. Apparently is more unsafe to eat lots of bananas or take a few flights.
The heat (and my hormones) have made the swelling a bit crazy the last few days though. My feet swelled so much that my Achilles' tendon on my right foot is all bruised and nasty because it got too squished. I have lost over a half a stone of fluid OVERNIGhT...just off my feet I think!... and feel much better this morning and can see feet shapes today.
So out in a minute to do some much needed dead heading.0 -
LIR take care with your feet,
Maggie :eek::eek::eek::eek: at the flat, sad thing is I actually like the patterns on some of the wallpaper, and it would look great just as a papered 'featured' wall
Davesnave, When we used to show dogs many moons ago, we had one she dog ( cant the b word on here) she had lumps on her boobies, and we had them removed, and within months there was more. sometimes it is best to leave well alone, as you said with your DD ferret it only gave a few months more, and then how can we tell it is actual quality of life for the animal.. yes we can pick up on certain signs, but they could be like us, and soldier on through aches and pains..Work to live= not live to work0 -
Just came across this website
http://periodproperty.co.uk/
know in my luck I will forget the name of it, so I am parking it here for later..
There was a helpful bit about raking out lime mortar etc

The much cheaper tiles we're going for in the bathroom. They look a bit better in real life I think.. They are not the beautiful stone ones, but they are going to be easier to clean and softer if one trips against them.

I didn't express it very well yesterday, but what I meant about Daisy was that having an operation, or spending time living at the vets while they get wee samples etc isn't what she needs right now.
It might make us feel better that we've 'tried everything,' but all it will do is stress her out. Even if they found a 'cure' she'd realistically only have a year or two anyway, and I still think that's a slim chance.
She's not in visible pain, just tired and sleeping most of the time.0 -
Lir, take care.
CTC, are you feeling better this week after starting to progress the ranch?
DD1 will have set out early am from Kamp Heumensoord on day 1. Her young children did a video of support for her, marching with placards and wearing fatigues and army boots. :rotfl::rotfl:
Went to the docs and he still thinks its muscular/ligaments rather than spinal, which is good I think, as it means that I get to grin and bear it rather than have an op :cool:0
