:mad::mad::mad::mad:
I posted last week that we had an offer accepted on a property. EA agreed no more viewings and property to be taken off the market.
Rang today to find out why no memorandum of sale. Oh we don't send those out until the chain is complete. Fair enough. Then I asked why is the property still for sale on RM. Will check with my collegue she said. Lengthy delay. Then back on the line to say the vendors rang this morning to say that they were no longer accepting our offer and they want more. Property is for sale for OIEO £250k and they want more than £250k. EA very sorry that they had not got round to letting us know.
Not having a lot of luck on this house search:(:(
Davesnave - there's some funny people out there in ebay world. I had to ask ebay to block one member from contacting me as they sent me abusive messages - and all over a 99p DVD. There is a lot of misdescription that goes on - I once bought some BNWT Fat Face trousers which were frayed at the bottom and had sand in the pockets! It did have a tag though - seller must have had a tagging machine. It is a good idea to be alone in a garden at dawn or dark so that all its shy presences may haunt you and possess you in a reverie of suspended thought.

Better Days, what a bummer!
Only consolation is that it didnt happen at exchange after incurring lots of fees.0 -

Evening!
Another scorcher, started cooler and cloudy but back to scorchio by lunchtime!
CTC glad you're leaving the stones uncovered, they're in good nick so be a shame to cover them up again. Will you get someone to repoint if you dig out all the old stuff? It's a bit of an art but you could get the mason to show you, you'd be really good with all those walls to practice on!
Glad it's not just my cats and fleas! Less than a fortnight ago they all got Frontlined and I'm still finding fleas, nothing on the dogs so far, not that I can see. Is there some resistance building up? I've got a prescription for Advocate from the vets, does a lot more than fleas all in one, will try that.
Rozee I've PMd a name and number, hope they can help with the insulation. I'm afraid I'm no use at colour schemes without seeing where they are to go, I'm a visual person apparently. And the fact that our outside is a boring magnolia, black window sills, white uPVC windows, wasn't brave enough to paint it the colour I liked, sandtex's blue. In fact just realised on our other cottage the exterior is exactly the same - boring!
BD - have you pointed out to the estate agents (!!!!s) that even if you wanted to offer more (can you?) if you go over £250k the stamp duty increase for the buyer will put ANYONE off paying slightly more? There's a reason not many houses sell for 250-275, they have to be pretty special to justify the extra SD.
You'd think they would have told the vendor themselves, oh, maybe not they are the devils henchmen after all! Is there a legal way of getting round this? Probably not, I'd tell them to bog off until they see sense!
Alfie, symapthise with the sunburn, my shoulders are peeling furiously, very itchy and have to resist rubbing, bits of shedding skin everywhere is not pleasant esp in a business meeting this morning YUK!0 -
Frontline has had resistance for a long while for some people/areas.0

Of the West Country ones
2 looks like the Longbridge, Barnstaple
3 Bristol Channel? could be off Ilfracombe but could be anywhere :rotfl:
4 Lynmouth pre-flood
5 Not sure. Could be somewhere like Combe Martin.0 -
Sorry to hear about the property, BD.
Rozee - Go with whatever colours you like. You have to live with them not us0 -

i am a visual person for paint too..:o BUT i will say LIR has a good eye and knows her tones...:D
i have hacked down all the honeysuckle from the corner of my house... big space now but it was billowing out and half dead...

im thinking all my demolition jobs are a sort of karma after the dork electrician....:rotfl::rotfl:
bummer about losing the house...:( but will be interesting to see if it sells. my friend who buys houses [doesnt sell em tho...] always walks away if they start faffing around...they nearly always ring her up to see "if she's still interested" weeks later tho... and she just says NOPE.0 -
If it helps, I'm choosing bathroom colours today and not choosing a Greene blue is REALLY hard, lol.
We had been going to have a blue ceiling in there but have changed our minds, and have been planning a soft white but I am having a panic about lack of colour although i know it would look chic and its how i have pictured it, but I am dithering over this because of the last minute tile change from a natural stone (a warm 'white' )to a whiter white ceramic.

S it might be that or a 'white' like this
http://www.littlegreene.com/clockface
http://www.littlegreene.com/pearl-colour-pale
I'll know by the end of the week because I need to do the ceiling before the tiler comes in. Blue ceiling and white. Off White and off white walls or French greys. (Which totally changes the plan and means I need a different curtain rail...the one I have for in there was to be the only other colour in there, and is a pale turquoise and distressed gold....)0 -

2 looks like the Longbridge, Barnstaple Correct I Think: Bideford Long Bridge 1935 (unless Barnstaple has a long bridge as well)
3 Bristol Channel? could be off Ilfracombe but could be anywhere :rotfl:. The clue is in the rowing boats, as the paddle steamers couldnt dock here
4 Lynmouth pre-flood Correct Lynmouth 1935
5 Not sure. Could be somewhere like Combe Martin. Close, but no cigar
Of the Welsh ones, look above the woman's head for a clue to one, the Lido for the other is well famous, ir's been derelict for years and is about to be restored/renovated.0
