Well, it's glorious here today after a ropey day yesterday when I haven't felt so cold for a long time.
This is the first Winter in the caravan when the water hasn't frozen up for weeks at a time - no burst pipes this year - so it's milder, but considerbly wetter - even for us. It's rained for months. The grounds been saturated for months. But, you get a few dry days in a row & it really does start to dry out. Both OH & I have fallen quite a lot as the ground is so slidey. You get a growth here - like a jelly. You can't really see it, but it's lethal.
It's such a difference getting the sun back, even on energy levels - especially on energy levels. My ole pinal gland shuts down & I start to hibernate in the depths of Winter.
The tops are all glisteny white, the Loch is like a sheet of glass & you could sell any place here on a day like today - it's stunning.
OH is away on a boy thing this morning - trying to work out how to get a spanking gorgeous Royal blue Rayburn out of a derelict house where the floors collapsed......and it's all mine, all mine...all mine.......0 -
Oooooooooooph.......when do you think he'll get it home choille? Can it go into the kitchen yet?0

They came, they looked at my garden, they went. Said 'maybe next week'.

Sorry nowhere near Farnborough CTC. Did the weather brighten up for you today?
Davesnave do you use Adblockplus too? It's great for getting rid of embedded ads and those at the start of You Tube videos and the ads if you watch 4OD and Channel 5 online.
Mr BD has gone off to get some wood to make some raised beds for me - he is all enthusiastic about getting things done - after 10 months in rental it appears he has 10 months of DIY to get out of his system :rotfl::rotfl:He is off work this week and needs 'things to do' every day, or he will drive me mad...... Luckily there is no shortage of things to do in this houseIt is a good idea to be alone in a garden at dawn or dark so that all its shy presences may haunt you and possess you in a reverie of suspended thought.

Hopefully Rayburn will be got out of where it is & got here next week. It's not straightforward - is anything here? We've bought it/traded for it. Couldn't have afforded it otherwise. It was put in 15 years ago - run for 3 months occasionally & then the house was shut up - so it's like new apart from some slight rust on the rail at the front & you get B&Q shower rail cut to length that's an exact match & much cheaper than going to AGA for it.......Oh, I'm soooooooooo excited, I'm so excited,,,,,but the flu & stuff will cost over £1,200............
LIR _ Duct. If it's for BT/Open reach - phone line you don't need it ducted. You can dig it straight in - well you can in Scotland. You just need it ducted where it goes into the house.
The most gorgeous sun set tonight - blood red & a cloud turned a greenish tinge against it.
Did some pruning this afternoon - trying to hack a bit of order into the shrubbery.0 -
Open reach say I need 'standard two inch duct'' in the trench choille.0
-
Here, they just bury it in sand, but if it's going across a drive, then I suppose so. Remember to put a rope in it if you're using a duct!0

I can recommend most of those removal tools, 'cos I had to use them in 2012. If I can do it, anyone can.
No, I don't use AdBlock..... yet. I've only been using Firefox for a couple of months, since IE stopped working properly with this site. :cool:0 -
Alf, I've got to supply it because I want it done.
I'm not prepared to wait any longer
Choille, all round our place there are ducts with ropes in them, like vague promises for the future....:). My architect has the view, you dig a trnceh you through a duct down, because one day you'll be glad. I just never bought the duct myself!
