Our computer was hacked I think.

I'm eventually on the laptop. Just caught up......I think.

Two things you can do about that:

    1. Use Firefox and get the free add-on No Script. That prevents any malicious scripts from being automatically downloaded from infected web pages. Remember, the nasty stuff is usually hidden in well-visited pages of quite innocent things - the last one I had was lurking in Autotrader.

    2. Do all your browsing inside a sandbox, such as that offered free by Sandboxie. Then, if something does get through, it's stuck in the sandbox (which is just a small partitioned-off chunk of your hard drive) and you can empty the whole thing, including the malicious script, at the end of a session.

    Not 100% foolproof, but 99.9% :D

Presuming the PO meets its obligations to deliver on time, but as we know, 'stuff happens.' Like.....

Just had a call from Western Power. The big job they're doing in the fields has been postponed for "a week or two." :(

I asked if they would like me to gather the loose bits of wire & stuff the sheep are trampling/moving about, and stick them in a sack.

    "Yes, that would be good."

Bloody sight better than finding some of it in the baler. :rotfl:

    My hops have arrived!

But my troughs have not :(. Apparently there is a delay.

I suppose I'll stick them in some plastic pots so they can start then pot them on into the thoughs.

    Grrr, lost post...

    Yes and no.

I'd use larch, Douglas fir. Whatever frankly. We have obligation, aiui to replace like with like. What I saw was manky, spongy timber and photos of a tumble down mess.

Larch stinks like an ole goat. I wouldn't have thought you had Doglas Fir down there. I thoughtit was aHighlandthing.

I don't know larch smelled, for some reason I thought it smelt good. :(

Douglas fir on a large scale is presumably shipped down. But they ship over French oak and stuff too, cheaper than English oak.

Tbh, would do in cheapest way we could get away with.

The bulk of the timber visible from outside is a wall facing another barn. We'd not put doors on the bits we used as garaging but keep them open fronted or possiblepy gated so I could use them as emergency over flow /isolation stabling if needed. :D. And so that would reduce timber cost a little, (though appreciate what you save there goes on insulation inside.)

LOADS OF wild goats been born & the weathers really turned for the worse. Gorgeous wee things - like teddies so they are.

Computer dropped off & sounds like it;s jiggered. Could do without the hassle & expense - always summat, eh?
