... youngest came home at 12.05am.. in a stonker of a mood, so upset... basically cut a very long short he was saying his so called friends were telling him to 'do one' and top himself, and a load of name calling etc... he left the pub at about 9.30 - 10pm and walked home crying his heart out.. .

There comes a time when young people have to decide whether to please the crowd or be themselves. It's particularly hard when the crowd, for their own reasons, aren't warm, sympathetic types.

My DD2 came to this point around the age of 15. She dumped her usual mates, who were giving her grief, and palled-up with people who weren't exciting, but who were steady, more supportive characters.

I suppose it wasn't more than 6 months or so before she had a new perspective on everything and a healthy relationship with one or two of the former bullies. By then, she saw them for what they were, just scared kids who were having bad times at home. The whole experience was very empowering for her.

Fact is, whether they're teenagers or adults, those who bully are unhappy and insecure. I don't underestimate the courage needed to break away from them though.
  • that looks scrummylicious LIR...

  • Its hard Davesnave..

His bestest mate from school, turned on him so to speak, when My son turned round and said he didn't want to be in his band no more, as basically it was sh!!te and it was not for him...so he lost his main bunch of friends then, so he started going round with 'this lot' a year or so ago, as you say it could be jealousy, as my youngest has got an ideal job if you are a musician, working in one of the main music shops in the city, Ok my youngest is a bit of a Diva, but that's him...

Just hoping it was 'one of those night' where he thought his life was poo, and not worth living, and everyone hated him.. and he will wake up this morning. with a better out look on things

You are right. I think it is all down to jealousy.. as loadsof his mates are in collage... but in all honesty I don't know what type of jobs are out there for they type of qualifications they are going to get out of it???

I was diagnosed with psoriasis in my teens so had all the "tarlight" treatment. Then they thought it was Lupus, Then something arthritic/rheumatic.
I'm now not sure that it wasn't all actually the start of the urticaria as it coincided with the start of the problems when flying. The broader family has all the associated issues with eczema, diabetes etc.

Any skin problem seems to be exacerbated by winter weather which is why I, too, long for warmth & sunshine. Unfortunately it's been in short supply here over recent years although last summer wasn't as bad. However, not being able to wear many sorts of footwear (including anything like wellies) means being housebound for the majority of the time. I long to be able to have pavements to walk on & the warmth to wear light clothing & sandals.
