    Good Morning :D

I hope you are all safe and well. The wind has really started to pick up here and although a rough day is planned I think we will escape the worst of it.

As for me I have been up since 3.30am  with a very busy brain and after trying for ages to get back to sleep I have given up and I will nap later ;) The cat is not impressed that I have put on the lights and the TV as she was happily asleep on my coat :rotfl:

This Christmas is hopefully going to be very relaxing as it is the first year that we will have no visitors to the house so the frantic Christmas Eve clean doesn't need to happen :j. Instead we are visiting family so all I should have to do is sit very still and eat :D In fact I am being so lazy that all the gifts are going into gift bags so I don't even need to wrap them :o

  • The weather is a bit rough her but not half as bad as what you have it choille...

I really do feel deflated with all this, as now I am on edge to what they are going to try and report//complain about us next...

all we want from our smallholding is to get out of the rat race and and have a calmer more peaceful life... It is seriously making me think if this place was the right place for us...I love it, totally love it. This is the trade off I suppose for not being able to afford a place with NO close houses etc...

Your dreams really do get shattered why you buy a place...

Think I need a cuppa, and a huge slice of Panatone

Think this letter, has now got my mind working over time...now... merry flipping Christmas...

CTC I would be really unsettled by peoples complaints as well however you are doing what you can to transform the place and making a real asset to the community and yourselves. As long as you are doing things by the book and have the support of the NFU then they will be moaning for nothing.

My thoughts may also be turning to the Pantone that I got for 35p last night ;)

    ..
I think dreams are just that. Reality is messier.

I dreamed of owning a house with 1/2 mile of the Taf near St Clears, but it was a bit more than we could afford and there was definitely an odd close neighbour, not to mention the river being rather close for comfort too. I wonder what the folks who live there are waking up to today!

We have woken to septic tank issues, as there's an inspection chamber that leaks when the water table rises this high, putting more clean water in than can escape via the run-out. So, lots of water in our new garden area......:o It will all be sorted when we re-do the drains. That's reality.

Also, I had to move all the squashes out of the conservatory yesterday, as there are so many drips in there, it's atmosphere is too damp for storage. They were going mouldy. :( That's reality too.

The most important thing is that you love the place. If you can bond with it, you'll forgive all the other things that make it imperfect. :A
  • I hope so Davesnave.... as at the moment I am sitting here crying my heart out....

I honestly thought making good of the property was going to be the nightmare and the hardest thing, BUT in reality that is a bit of pee compared in dealing with neighbours and the people who use the footpath, they don't realise they are walking on someone's land...

I am prob feeling like this, as we have ha such a busy sh!!!tey STRESSFULL year... and this is basically putting the pooey icing on that cake... no wonder I am getting to hate people more and more...

Good morning, hope everyone is safe and dry. We had devastation in our area a fortnight ago from the high winds and the tidal surge. Fortunately no human lives were lost, but plenty of animals drowned and homes flooded. The community spirit has been absolutely fantastic with food collections, furniture and white goods being offered to the poor people affected. The scary thing is that there is a higher tide due on 1st January, everyone will be praying that there are no strong winds and it passes without incident.

Rummer, I buy the gift bags aswell lol, not very money saving but I hate wrapping presents and they make it easier and quicker.

CTC, chin up and don't let those horrid people spoil your dream.

Hope you all have a lovely Christmas and a prosperous new year x

Jenie.. your first paragraph just brought me back to reality with a big bump and a feeling of utter guilt... here's me moaning and groaning, and then there are people who have totally lost everything due to something they can not control the weather... the only thing that the weather has done to us ( so far) is get me into trouble with the natural resource wales.. by mud and the potential of pig poo going into the stream..

Are you ok? has the weather done any damage to your property??

Dear LiR, hope that Big Dog is OK. I did see your news earlier but was feeling too ill to post. I'm sending postive vibes for a good outcome in your direction. Hugs from Liverpool.
