How's the view from up on that high horse?

I can see a lot further than you.

You don't know my personal circumstances.

After the hassle we have gone through for this house then we don't want to live there anymore, quite plain and simply we won't be happy there.

Had it been an easier journey I would happily have lived there. I'm under no obligation to move there anymore and we are currently looking for another house where my boy doesn't have to move schools.

I'm basically royally !!!!!! at how I've been messed about through this whole scenario and I think it's highly unfair.

And before someone mentions number 3's poor run of luck, there's nothing that can be done about that, if there's something that can be done for me then I'm more than willing to do it.

Pimento you can't see further than your cousins brothers wife's mothers brother who has cancer. You've been directly affected by it and it has clouded your judgment on this particular subject. I'm sorry for you and your relative having been dealt such a poor hand and I hope you lot pull through but riding your high horse in here isn't helping me out at all.

I would be very doubtful that you could claim for any compensation especially as the couple are still willing to proceed and it is you that no longer wants to.

They have breached contract. If I was to proceed with that couple then it would be a new contract

Just take your head out of your rear end and put yourself in No.3's position for a moment. Let's give them the benefit of the doubt and agree that they're telling the truth.

What you propose to do is add to their stress at a very difficult time by dragging them through the courts to get what? Even your solicitor says that any judge with a modicum of heart will side with No.3. Are you just being vindictive?

And actually, it's my husband who has cancer at the moment.

What you're proposing sounds verging on the sociopathic.

ETA: You don't even still want to buy their house. Words fail me.

Yes after the 10 working days. It was either that or force them out of their home. By rescinding the contract I then have to claim costs, I've asked simply am I entitled to compensation.

It was initially a question towards welshwolfs in her thread but I was told to create my own thread where it's free for keyboard warriors who have too much time on their hands to come in and belittle me

OP have you ever been in court?

It is not a black and white thing.

The judge would listen to both sides and the reasons behind actions would be taken into account.

You no longer wanting to proceed but wanting to get compensation would not do you any favours!

Can't believe this is where the culture of blame has got us!

Jaff, just for the record if Vendor 3 really is ill I am pretty much 120% sure that they would rather have moving house to deal with than cancer.

You willingly, on your solicitor's advice rescinded the contract. This is different to the thread that you initially found, as that OP refused to do this and that is why she would have been able to force a sale if she had gone down that route.

Just keep looking, and be happy and thankful that you and your family have your health. You will be fine. You don't need compensation.
