- colour TV! (didn't see one of those until 1981)
- food for snacks
- duvets
- e-bullying
Ahh duvet, the first time I encountered one of those was a school skiing trip on an overnight stop in Munich

I was talking to the kids at school last week telling them we only had one computer between the whole school...they were shocked!!
My ds (8yo) has an e reader (pressie for op yesterday), dsi (he saved up and brought himself, family laptop, family wii, ipad but its MINE!!
He's got half the gadgets his mates have and has only asked for Lego for his birthday!!“Listen earnestly to anything your children want to tell you, no matter what. If you don't listen eagerly to the little stuff when they are little, they won't tell you the big stuff when they are big, because to them all of it has always been big stuff.”0 -
And what about the stuff that's been and gone in that time - things like CD's!0

1 PC
1 decommissioned PC
1 lap top bought for Mrs Generali to work from home
2 very cheap mini lap tops that were completely hopeless that we plan to give to the kids when they're old enough to be trusted
1 lap top gifted to Mrs Generali by her work to enable her to work from home (local accounting rules often make it advantageous to give a lap top rather than keep it owned by the company AIUI).0 -
Oh and muesli..0

Pancake maker is a flat piece of metal with an element underneath it. It was a Father's Day present and cost about $10.
I use the ice cream maker once a month on average. It was a present for cooking a meal for 60 people, a thank you.
So like a frying pan, but with a mini built-in cooker? I've never eaten home-made ice cream, so glad you are getting use out of it.
I remember my friend's mum buying the first microwave of anyone in our street (some time in the 80s). A man actually came and gave her a "lesson" on how to use it, during which she took notes and everything. Come to think of it, in the 10 years I've rented in London I've never had a microwave.
I also remember my first Body Shop gift- a little bottle of Dewberry Shower Gel. Nobody in my family had ever washed with anything other than soap before. They are an EYESORES!!!!0 -
