gravitytolls wrote:I imagine feeback could reflect all of the above, byt assuming payment , communication etc, have been fine, why shouldnt sellers leave FB immediately.gravitytolls wrote:I always leave feedback as soon as payment clears, and expect the same when I'm buying.
If you are leaving feedback as soon as payment clears ..... how are you rating a buyer on the whole experience?

I get fed up with buyers who don't even have the decency to acknowledge receipt of goods with a quick email or feedback... After... I have emailed at end of auction...
I have emailed to advise payment received... I have emiled to advise payment cleared And I have emailed to advise goods shipped.
So... If I get an email confirming receipt and acceptance, I'll leave feedback... If I hear nothing, then I haven't a clue whether the goods have been received or not, so I am hardly going to be leaving feedback, am I? Besides, if I did leave feedback, what would I say? ... Once payment has cleared, I am ready to rate them on my experience i.e good/excellent payer, slow payer etc.
or good communication for payer who has hiccup but gets in touch
or good comms good payer etc for mixtures of above.
I then send item and buyer rates me on their experience, which hopefully will have been good for both.
Of course there has been the odd occasion when I've left a good payer appropriate feedback, and they've left neg or neut, but that's the nature of the beast; I really don't think buyers should be held to ransom over feedback.
If a seller states, pos feedback always left when feedback received, how can you be sure the feedback is a true reflection of a buyers experience?I ave a dodgy H, so sometimes I will sound dead common, on occasion dead stupid and rarely, pig ignorant. Sometimes I may be these things, but I will always blame it on my dodgy H.
Sorry, I'm a bit of a grumble weed today, no offence intended ... well it might be, but I'll be sorry.0 -
Then you are in fact, as suggested, rating them on the speed with which they pay only?gravitytolls wrote:Once payment has cleared, I am ready to rate them on my experience i.e good/excellent payer, slow payer etc.

Just as a seller should not be held to ransom by a buyer who has received positive feedback for simply paying quickly, but then turns out to be an !!!!!!.gravitytolls wrote:I really don't think buyers should be held to ransom over feedback.

Q. Do you feel the Positive feedback you left for this "crackpot" reflected your "experience"?

In that instance the positive does accurately reflect the transaction. Originally it went well and that's what the positive says.
A buyer contacting you three weeks later to ask for a refund is rare and we shouldn't all wait weeks for buyers to get 'odd' before we leave feedback.

Reading this thread through again I totally agree with Tojo Ralph. He sounds like me when it comes to leaving buyers f/b....lol...
:
In the past hubby has left pos f/b for a buyer as they paid by paypal within minutes of the auction ending which is excellent and we wish more buyers done the same. But then we post the item and he receives a neg saying "Teddy bear was smaller than I expected" How is that hubbys fault that the buyer thought 3 inches was either massive or buyer didn't even read the measurement part of description??He didn't even need to mention in feedback about size of the bear which was his mistake anyway!! People just don't think when they leave f/b. IMO f/b shouldn't be left by either seller or buyer until all problems are sorted out(if any) and both parties are happy.
We are just glad we found out how to follow up f/b left by hubby because we have had some buyers leave a neg without even contacting hubby to sort out any problems. So we can now follow up our pos with a comment to warn others that particular buyer will neg you without even making contact which I find very ignorant.:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:0 -

Soo
I would not automatically assume the transaction went smoothly to begin with. The seller has pointed out that negative feedback was left for them three weeks prior to the buyer requesting a refund, thus, three weeks prior to the buyer getting "odd", they had reason enough (in their eyes) to neg the seller. The MSE Dictionary
