Paypal Not As Secure As You Think

The Buyer Protection Policy now only covers items paid for by PAYPAL ONLY!! - no Cheques, Postal Orders, Bank transfers etc. and this policy is now in force across the UK Site.

Just to clarify how to identify your Buyer protection level - look at the right hand side of the item header. Notice how all sellers have 100% feedback records, but the protection varies.


If the seller does not accept Paypal then no protection is available - this will appear under the sellers feedback details -




If Paypal is offered but the seller is not verified, this will be displayed -




If the seller is verified and offering Paypal, you will see this -



For sellers wishing to become eligible for £500 protection, the following terms must be met -

- A Verified PayPal Premier or Business account
- At least a 98% positive feedback rating (this includes feedback from repeat buyers and sellers)
- An eBay feedback score of 50 or more
- PayPal as a payment method during the eBay listing process (PayPal - - Buyer Protection only covers items paid for with PayPal
- A PayPal account in good standing
- List the item on an eligible eBay site.


By acting on the above information, buyers should be able to make a better judgement on whether to purchase from each seller.

Today, paypal came through for me when they had no requirement to do so. And so I will not slag them! Don't believe the horror stories folks, if all else fails give them a ring and speak to a real person.
