    Ouch.

Cheers Royal Mail, green light for everyone to raise their prices. So much for competition driving prices down!

Sounds like they'd rather have RM deliver anything small or less than 1kg, i.e. they'd rather be a parcel company than an alternative letter delivery system

I think I am slightly more shocked at the lack of advance notice, I use them almost daily and whilst I expected the prices to go up I had thought a little more notice would be given. I've got a MVL BIN that needs changing now as well as several auctions.

At least Royal Mail gave us lots of notice!

  • All myHermes have done is made parcelshop prices the same as home collection prices, and removed the 0-1 category.

I'd only just started using the parcelshop option as one opened up a 15 minute walk away. I quite liked that I was getting that service a bit cheaper as I was putting some effort in but now I'll go back to getting the courier to come round!

With 6 days notice which means I either have to cancel my current auctions with bids, or , pay the additional £1.20 myself . I will of course be doing the latter, but I think it is poor customer service to rush through a change with no notice.

Ever feel that there is a conspiracy against the ordinary guys making a living?

Weren't we talking about the possibility of this a couple of weeks ago? Let's hope they are passing on some money to their hard working couriers, otherwise you would need to ask why a royal mail price rise, gives them an excuse to rake in more money.

I quite agree, but let's face it, customer service has never been their strong point, has it?
