£10.70 OP today thanks to £co and a 70p TT.
Lots of grocery shopping and batch cooking done at the weekend so we are now well stocked following our time away. I'm doing the challenge payday to payday so I have £21.28 for next weekend's shop, which should be fine.
Even more train refunds coming my way - awful service at the moment but I'm trying to see the silver lining that is the miniscule refund which can towards an OP!
1. Mortgage to sub-£35k - OP £2,171.44 - £146.28/£2,171.44
2. eBay sales of £10 - £0/£10
3. Grocery budget £75 - £53.72/£75
4. Cashback payouts of £10 - £10/£10
5. Switch current account
Hoping to have a quieter next weekend to tackle eBay and bank switch.

Itching for pay day to arrive so I can make my OP!MFW 2017 #123 2018: £1,852.64/£39,200 (4.7%)0 -
Pay day yesterday and I managed to OP the planned £2,000 plus a further £41 which is the "extra" pay I now have - made up of the amount I'm saving from not buying additional leave like I did last year, less the extra season ticket loan deduction due to fare rises.
I also had a nice surprise £co payout of £47.10 from a holiday we went on last year which I had forgotten all about
We did a fair sized supermarket run at the weekend and stocked up on some store cupboard items and fish so I overspent by £19.50 - will adjust my Feb budget for this as we'll basically spend less next month.
So my totals:
1. Mortgage to sub-£35k - OP £2,171.44 - £2,236.49/£2,171.44
2. eBay sales of £10 - £0/£10
I will get back on this in Feb
3. Grocery budget £75 - £94.50/£75
4. Cashback payouts of £10 - £57.10/£10
5. Switch current account - I need to wait until my DDs come out at the start of Feb and will then arrange this
Mortgage stands at £34,922.19 and daily interest has dropped by a whole 14p!MFW 2017 #123 2018: £1,852.64/£39,200 (4.7%)0 -
My February goals:
1. Mortgage to sub-£32k - OP £2,262.60 - £0/£2,262.60
2. eBay sales of £10 - £0/£10
3. Grocery budget £100 - £0/£100
4. Cashback payouts of £10 - £0/£10
5. Switch current accountMFW 2017 #123 2018: £1,852.64/£39,200 (4.7%)0 -
Well done on the OP!
Re: current account switch, there's a mandatory 7-working day wait for the switch to process, so depending on when your DDs go out you could start the process this week and have the switch happen afterwards.0 -
Thanks!

Ooh great - it's a while since I last switched so I hadn't realised that! I can arrange later this week in that case as almost all of my DDs come out on 1st.MFW 2017 #123 2018: £1,852.64/£39,200 (4.7%)0 -
A quiet weekend with free cinema passes meant no spends other than groceries - spent quite a lot but more batch cooking done, the freezer is fit to bursting and we are meal planned for the week with no need for more spends. Plus we used £10 of coupons

Today I OP'd £89.49, being my share of the council tax saving this month, £4.64 £co payout and £3.70 train delay vouchers cashed in.
1. Mortgage to sub-£32k - OP £2,262.60 - £89.49/£2,262.60
2. eBay sales of £10 - £0/£10
3. Grocery budget £100 - £43.39/£100
4. Cashback payouts of £10 - £4.64/£10
5. Switch current account
ETA: Oh and made a sneaky holiday booking :shhh: I think I may have a small addiction! Bargain flights booked to one country and back from another (!), will fill in the gaps in the itinerary and the hotels over the coming month or so - the total will be less than we budgeted for a beach getaway.MFW 2017 #123 2018: £1,852.64/£39,200 (4.7%)0 -
Holiday sounds nice - will you travel around or are you staying on the border between countries?0
-
We will travel - a couple of nights in each place. I spent some time planning a guideline itinerary and costing hotels/excursions/ transfers/activities yesterday and we come in at less than we planned to spend on a beach holiday, with plenty of room to cut back further with cheaper hotels etc.
Starting in Split and working our way along the Dalmatian coast to Montenegro with a couple of stops there and perhaps a few day trips inland into a couple of the other Balkan countries. I have a serious and persistent case of wanderlust so I'm super excited :jMFW 2017 #123 2018: £1,852.64/£39,200 (4.7%)0 -
Sounds very nice.
We've been tending to just pick one place and stay there for a few days, exploring that area alone. It would be nice to be able to branch out a bit, though - maybe that'll be my plan for our next holiday. Not sure when/where we'll go, though, as we have to save up to go to Hawaii for my father's wedding spring 2017 so that may take up all our holiday budgeting until then! 0
