Parking ticket, 6 minutes late

Umkomaas.
I have and it's no. 44.
Rubbish appeal but I'm learning quickly0 -

You should allow the driver a reasonable period to leave the private car park after the parking contract has ended, before you take enforcement action.
6 minutes is not reasonable IMO
I wouldn't want to base my POPLA on this as the major plank of appeal grounds.
Reason? The ticket was stuck on car when it was still parked after time up. This clause is primarily there for ANPR or barrier car parks where motorist has had a period of parking and is given time before and after actually parking for time to get into and out of parking space. This is how, I believe, POPLA will interpret the clause.
Still use it, of course, coupled with the fact that the clock on the ticket machine and the operator's timepiece were at different times.0 -

Oh for God's sake, it's not just down to the stupid lack of grace period! .
You will have LOADS of appeal points in a POPLA appeal that we help you to write (the above poster unfortunately didn't post for help with the wording and missed a trick seeing as we've won 100% of POPLA cases we have helped to write).
100% won by the very forum you are getting advice from. And yet you want to pay the scammers?PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Win at POPLA and you won't have to. Lose at POPLA and you still don't have to.
With a 100% success rate between us here and PePiPoo, it's a no-brainer mate. Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

Hello guys, just thought id keep you updated, I never paid the ticket.
it is now the 10th August 2013 and I have not had anything through the post re: the ticket.0 -
Good on you for not paying , you may still hear something but its not likely now. When posting a parking issue on MSE do not reveal any information that may enable PPCs to identify you. They DO monitor the forum.
We don't need the following to help you.
Name, Address, PCN Number, Exact Date Of Incident, Date On Invoice, Reg Number, Vehicle Picture, The Time You Entered & Left Car Park, Or The Amount of Time You Overstayed.

what would be a reasonable amount of time to wait?
I'm sick of the ticket looking at my from the bookshelf and id like to shred it.0 -

The factually correct answer is 6 YEARS. Once they expire then you can't be chased any longer. One PPC (CEL) is currently serving court papers for parking events going back over 2 years to ignorers of their tickets.
The probability in your case is that you'll hear no more, but there can be no cast iron guarantee. What would have provided you with a cast iron guarantee of killing this dead was a win at POPLA, as advised when you first posted, but, unfortunately you didn't take that opportunity and that door is now closed.
Sorry if this sounds a little harsh, but I did say at the time it was a no brainer not to appeal to POPLA.Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

Dave - you may have got away with it, but you don't know and won't for years to come
If you had said "S*d it, they can take a running jump, I'm not paying", then fair enough, a positive decision.
But you have !!!!!-footed around saying you were going for the bargain reduced offer then dithered so that you have missed both POPLA (as advised) and the reduced sum and are now trusting that the PPC won't do court.
Frankly, don't know why you bothered coming on here and I, for one, won't be prepared to help if you do get any correspondence from Northampton.0
