Also would you not be worried about where the egss have come from also? The conditions they are kept in and the feed that they are given , you know to make their eggs bigger in size so it looks like youre getting better value.:A:dance:1+1+1=1:dance::A

Regardless of production or packaging. An egg is an egg, protected by the very shell that secures it. If it looks like an egg and tastes like an egg........Its an egg.
There are far too many chickens in the world for me to worry about all the ones that don't live in detatched coops with a plasma tv and wine cooler.
I worry about poor children who live in squalor and don't have enough to eat, they need my concern far more than the chickens.
Before anyone starts, i know someone has to worry about the chickens, but it won't be me i'm afraid.0 -
I only worry about the chicken's plight during Sunday lunch, generally what seasoning should I add to it before it goes in the oven.:A:dance:1+1+1=1:dance::A

We're digressing now and will probably get into trouble

Sorry couldn't resist.0 -
And a chicken that has been housed in too tiny a cage and been pumped with god knows what to make its eggs bigger whilst getting all sorts of illnesses due to the conditions is not the sort of poultry I want to eat thanks.
Can make all the jokes you want about it but Im still not having it.Dont rock the boat

Why do you assume that the chicken in my fridge has been pumped with anything ? It's actually from the local farm shop.0 -
Back to the sausages debate I have to say the nicest sausages I've found are the cheapo value Tesco frozen ones. God knows what goes into them as they are something like £1 for 20 but they have more taste and flavour than more expensive brands. Same with burgers, something about a cheap greasy burger thats just so much more tasty than an expensive one.0

This "meat" can be 30% fat, 20% recovered meat (slurry), 30% filler (rusk or soya) and the other 20% made up of water, sugar additives etc.starrystarry wrote: »Exactly....bleurgh.
I really don't see what the issue is.
It appear that the cheap sausage is made of bits of animal plus additives. As opposed to more expensive sausages, which will be made of bits of animal plus additives.
It's only social conditioning that makes you think one bit of an animal is somehow superior to eat than another bit.
The only relevant question is "how does it taste?" In general, cheap sausages taste pretty good.0
