still plodding along! had one months pay now since being back from maternity, but it was a very basic pay and barely more than maternity pay.
I've just completed my expenses and overtime sheets, and will get commission from this month, so roll on the 25th! I had 5 days to put on overtime sheet, so thats a big help in itself.
Had a tax rebate this week of £500was a lovely treat to come home to from work. I put this in my bank account with the overdraft, which also has the tax credits we're now entitled to going in to it, and child benefit. It's -£380 now, which is a huge difference to what is was when i was on maternity (-£1200). I could be overdraft free in 5 weeks if i dont dip into the money that goes in.
Still selling on £-bay, but i'm going to have to re-think this a bit, selling for 99p just isnt worth the fees etc now, and putting the postage costs up makes things so expensive.Still here..... but working on that!0 -
i only sell on ebay when i have a fair few bits to go at a time.
great news about your rebate
hope you are all okFacing up to things - nov 2012 total 9334.95

My diary - i'm sorry! Left for almost a year!
Thinking of starting a fresh one tbh, my circumstances have changed so much since page 1, nice to have a read though of what was happening in 2013.
Or maybe i could add 2015 info to the bottom of the 1st post as an update.
So here goes, this is how life is treating me.....
We currently owe £9787 in credit cards, loans and overdrafts, sounds really bad but its down from 11,761 on March 1st this year.
I know they advise to pay off smallest debts 1st, but i get really angry when i look at the biggest balance, and feel that will be the best to start paying off quickly. Have just paid off My od AGAIN, phew!
The cc has just over 3k on, and really winds me up to look at!
Budgets for the month of may are -
Groceries £250
Petrol £150
Other £100
My child benefit goes into a seperate account and saves for insurance, hair cuts, pet bills etc. i worked out how much i need to budget for these things and it worked out just about £130 a month and we get £136, so every 4
Weeks when it goes in it is allocated for these things and i keep a running total in my little book
My clothes budget is small, as we all have loads of things, so £5 a week comes out of dh's pay into another account to pay for these.
Im following the - may the odds be ever in your favour thread to keep me on the straight and narrow!
Sfd's may 2/20 includes today, as i have no reason to spend anything.
Going to the mil's for tea, we do it every sun, which means i only need to account for6 meals a week.
Going to see how far i can get this week with using what ive got food wise, think ive probably got enough for 10 days of main meals.
right thats me for now, i promise ill be back this timeStill here..... but working on that!0 -
Just made a payment on the cc - £56.
Takes the balance to £3022 before interest is added. It'll be great to see it under 3k again this month!Still here..... but working on that!0 -

Oh I agree...it will be lovely to dip down into the 2s for you. I'm focusing on the 7s...hacking away at the debt. Keep going!Total debt at 18.9.17 £1950
Debts down £12,700 high in Feb 2015, £10,700 April 15, £8830 May 15, £6776 June 15 , £5857 July 15 £6970 1.3.16

Thanks polygarter - as long as the balance is decreasing thats the main thing
well done, small bits really do add up!
Yesterday i totalled up our april spend :
They were -
food - £197.56
Petrol - £124.63
Other - £137.40 (£62 on sun hols)
Cash - £60
Really pleased with the food budget, and total is £519.59, at £100 a week im only £19.59 over for the monthand that includes the sun holiday deposit (probably our only hols this year)
This month i'll try my best to be under that £500 mark
Off out to buy some dog food and a few bits now, will try to make sure that were sorted for the week when i go to avoid any more spending. Ive got £12 in cash so will try to keep it less than that. Dont need any meals so its just a few small bits.
Using dh's car as its a company one and the fuel is freeStill here..... but working on that!0 -
Morning,
Well ive started my envelope system on tues and managed to spend the whole lot by wed!!
I did buy a present for a friends daughter though which should have come out of a different account, so i have got that left really i just need to withdraw it from my birthdays money. Also bought dd a pack of socks, in 4ldi, so i transferred £2 to my bank account to cover it from the clothes pot.
Havent put petrol in yet, and didnt withdraw that money, just incase i didnt need it,but i will need to put it in today as im working fri, sat and sun and the half tank i had at the beginning of the week seems to have vanished?!
all in all a pretty bad start as i now have money left over but its in a different account. So i need to iron out a few things with the system im using but hopefully we get there!
I spent £50 on food, which is the budget, between 4ldi and l1dl, and have loads to show for it, which is great! Will possibly only need fresh things next week if i'm lucky!
Today i'm taking ds to a baby group but otherwise im hoping for a sfd!!Still here..... but working on that!0 -
Sfd number 3 here! Very pleased. Not sire how i'll manage the 20 on the challenge, but kitchens full so theres hope of a few sfd's now, plus im working fri, sat, sun, tues and wed so not much spendy time there!!Still here..... but working on that!0
