Hello there,
Been reading up on your thread and you sound to be doing marvellously! Good idea doing a new SOA to see how the land lies. I love all you little pots of cash aside for this and that. It's a good idea as it really does add up to more than you'd think if you don't keep track!

I live in Wales so don't pay for prescriptions. The medical bill each month is for the dentist. It is impossible to find an NHS dentist around here (the one I had closed down) so we pay denplan monthly.
Fyggy: Thank youI'm still trying to get my head around all these different pots! Trying to make sure we have everything covered so there aren't any nasty surprises!!
Just checked my account and I've been paid!! I love pay day. Though, I must admit it's even better when you're on maternity leave so have been paid to stay home! Put to one side the money needed for bills next month (and an extra £50 - just in case and because I can). The rest went straight into the Nationwide 5% account. Over £500 added to the savings. I wish that happened every day!!
Still no baby here. Think this one is planning on staying in. Every evening I start getting a few pains and wonder if it will develop into anything, but every morning I wake up after a good night's sleep feeling fine. Come on baby!!!!SCS Carpets 0% finance: [STRIKE]£1331.84[/STRIKE] £132.90

Baby news - baby still well and truly inside me!! Induction date for Thursday evening (if bed available in hospital - not holding breath!!).
Found that I'm using a lot more Internet at the moment since I've been on maternity leave. Was going to be charged £5 by bt for going over usage so I've changed the plan to unlimited which is an extra £3 a month.
Dh is self employed and as his mobile is his work one, we have just changed it over so that the money to pay comes from the business instead of us. That leaves an extra £35 a month in our account. My contract ends soon as well and then I'm changing to sim only which will be £11 per month instead of the £30 I'm paying now.
Decided to go back to weekly food budget instead of monthly, starting this week. Our budget is £30, but I'm aiming for £25 so that there is a little left over each week that can go towards christmas. Made our list last night and checked the prices online before going to the supermarket today. £24.97!! Happy with that and I've got vouchers so will have a little off. That's today's job- just hope my waters don't go haf way round (well actually......apparently you get freebies!!).
Our sockets all stopped working in the kitchen last nightLuckily one of our neighbours is an electrician so he popped over. The breaker was dodgy (like I know what that is??). It's going to cost £10 for a new one, and he will fit it for us without charge. Fair play. So, on our shopping list we have beers as a thank you!!!
A while ago dh sold his motorbike on ebay, and the buyer never paid up or showed. So, we've put it back on now. It's been on 24 hours and has loads of watchers and people asking about buy it now prices so fingers crossed it sells properly this time. The money will pay off our furniture and whatever's left over will go into savings until we get that up to £2500.
Anyway, I hope everyone has a good Tuesday, and I hope baby makes an appearance before induction!!!SCS Carpets 0% finance: [STRIKE]£1331.84[/STRIKE] £132.90

Baby D has arrived! :j
He was born last Friday, second of August at 00:43. He is totally gorgeous, loves his milk and thankfully sleeps quite well. He came into this world weighing 9 lbs 1.5 oz. 13 days late, but when he decided he was coming, he was coming!! I went from 2cm to 10cm in just a couple of hours so no time for pain relief until I was pushing (gas and air at that point - good stuff!!).
As far as money saving :money: goes - well I have no idea where our finances are at!! Dh has been out buying the extra bits we need (including some clothes because baby D is too big for some newborn things already!!) and has just put them all on one card (understandably). Hopefully have a chance to have a look today and make sure we have enough money in each account to last us the rest of the month!
Edited to add: my last post says I had an induction date for Thursday. Ended up in hospital Wednesday night with high bp and during the night my waters broke (wasn't sure though, found out next morning when they checked me) so I asked for an extra 24 hours to see if I'd labour naturally. They agreed and was booked in for induction at 8am Friday morning, but baby D arrived at around quarter to one that morning!SCS Carpets 0% finance: [STRIKE]£1331.84[/STRIKE] £132.90

Wow! It's a few days off a year later! Ds has just had his first birthday and is a proper little toddler, tantrums and all! He is gorgeous, though and I have spent the majority of the last year off with him which I have totally loved!!!
Well, I was meant to go back to work around Easter. Just before Christmas I started up my own little crafting business, which is doing pretty well but not well enough not to go to work as well. I have tried working very part time (2 days a week ish), but basically this means our debts have seriously grown! Children are expensive!!! I'm a supply teacher so not working now until September, but have decided I will be back working around 4 days a week from then onwards as we are really struggling financially.
I have gone through and worked out exactly what we owe. It's not far off £10,000!!! Eeeeeek!!! We have no saving and so much goes on the credit cards each month. Half of me is looking forward to working again (though have you seen nursery prices???), though I love the freedom of being home and spending time on my little business. I will keep that going, though will be cutting down in the amount I do.
I have today applied and been accepted for a new 0% credit card. I will transfer the balance of one of the others to that so will have 24 months interest free on around half of our debt. The card I am moving the balance from is offering a 0% balance transfer as well, so I will move the balance from my other card to that. Basically this means that I will have 2 cards, both at 0%. I hope this is a good start!SCS Carpets 0% finance: [STRIKE]£1331.84[/STRIKE] £132.90
