What do your guests sleep on?

And if it's a normal bed, then go away this thread isn't for you.
:D
For those who have used temporary beds like inflatables or folding beds etc, what have you found to be the most comfortable?
Assume for the purposes of the thread we are talking about fully grown adults, not kids. Kids bodies are generally more forgiving than those of middle aged adults and it's unlikely whatever your kids have slept on, would do my old, kinda heavy auntie.
I slept on a folding bed years ago and still have nightmares about the rod across the middle digging into my back but I daresay they've come on since then.
I do have an Aerobed but it's a raised one and it's quite difficult to get on and off as it has big stabilising 'wings' either side so I'm not sure it would be very good in this instance.

As a guest i have had the option of sofa, flock airbed inflated so much that the kids use it as a trampoline, and sofa pullout bed. the airbed is the most comfy.0

We have a futon for when our friends or family come to stay and have only ever received positive reviews! It is used as a sofa in our spare room most of the time & then pulls out as a double bed when friends or family come to stay.
It works really well, is much more comfortable than a camp bed and is older than me so has lasted very well

We have a proper bed in our spare room, however after that, there is space on the sofa in our lounge as its a sofa bed.
I've slept on futons in 3 people's houses but personally I find them really hard and uncomfortable. Id much rather sleep on a cheap sofa bed.
Blow up matress would come last
Especially one with holes in that deflate over night! 0 -
We bought a new suite for the Dining Room at Christmas and the sofa has a bed in it with an upgraded mattress (we tried the standard one and it was too thin)0

The choice in our home now, is the sofa, the floor, my dd high sleeper or the bath
Most people opt for the sofa or if they want to relive their youth my dd's bed. The latter is great as they always bang their head on the ceiling when waking up in the morning.

We have a futon mattress (no frame) that goes on the lounge floor. No complaints from anyone but you do need to air under it every day, of course. On the other hand as it's used in the lounge...
We also have two double inflatable airbeds, the twin chambered Coleman Double Comfort type. This airbed has two chambers so that if there's two people sleeping together they don't end up with the heavier partner sinking to the floor, or rolling together. They're incredibly comfy for airbeds and far superior to the cheap one chamber type from the supermarket. We use them for camping too so I can speak from personal experience.Val.0 -

I have to say I've not felt a futon was particularly comfortable. My son had one for years in his room and on the odd occasion I slept on it I found it really hard.
I've just 'slept' on a cheap airbed recently. I use the world 'slept' loosely. I really just lay and stared at the ceiling and prayed for morning to come quickly.

My sister had a blow-up mattress but in winter the cold from underneath made it really, really uncomfortable. In fact, I didn't sleep a wink and took myself onto the floor in the early hours.
The problem for older people is that most temporary guest-beds, if they are not sofa-beds is that they are far too low to get out of comfortably. Or at all.0 -
Futon mattresses are like sleeping on rocks!0

For When my adult kids friends sleep over we have a small double bed in a 2 seater sofa. Metal action and easy to pull out.
This in in our small front room so we can shut the door and make it into a 4th bedroom.
The dining room and kitchen are different rooms.
We also have a single matress spare that can be just put on any floor. The secret to success is making very small, yet constant changes.:)0
