Hi Blind-as,
Since this thread is starting to digress, only slightly - I hasten to add, into a general discussion on 'board moderation', may I suggest the following:
1. Post a thread, asking for volunteers to be put forward for consideration as board mods.
2. After a reasonable period (some people are away for half term) post a poll.
3. Submit the top 3-4 names to Martin with an official request that this board has its own moderators.I am NOT, nor do I profess to be, a Qualified Debt Adviser. I have made MANY mistakes and have OFTEN been the unwitting victim of the the shamefull tactics of the Financial Industry.
If any of my experiences, or the knowledge that I have gained from those experiences, can help anyone who finds themselves in similar circumstances, then my experiences have not been in vain.

Can I just say, I have only had one pm and that was from Alan's wife who is absolutely distraught. I need to be more well informed before I make my mind up. Enlighten me!BR 18 Oct 2006 Discharged 16 April 2007 :T0

For Richard
blind-as-a-bat, why don't you PM Martin and ask him if there's enough volunteers, you'd all be willing to go on a rota? Or something? Dunno really, it's the best I can come up withBulletproof0 -

Please assure Alan's wife that everyone is doing their best to rectify the situation - and that he is sorely missed.I am NOT, nor do I profess to be, a Qualified Debt Adviser. I have made MANY mistakes and have OFTEN been the unwitting victim of the the shamefull tactics of the Financial Industry.

Aw SS,
I take that as a compliment mate; have one on me
My O.H would like me to spend less time on here. :rotfl: I don't lose my rag easily but I'm probably the least objective member of this Forum
Just finished the last major tasks after moving house and I've now got all our fishing gear in one place. I knew something was a bit "iffy" when we moved and when I opened the rucksacks that we store bait in the mice had obviously had a field day while the gear had been stored at the rented place. Phew, you really need to be/have been an angler to appreciate that little delicacy; there should be a "puke" Smiley on here
Next decent weekend / bank holiday, I'm gonna be "messing around on the river" well lake.
Good on you mate. I'm hoping to get out for 48 hours next week!
Bloody mice! I had one do £50 worth of damage and found the culprit in my bag! I was well p'eed off but I couldn't hurt the little blighter and let him go!
What about this one? _pale_0 -

I agree. This needs it's own thread for BG suggestions.
People should not have to read to the end of this one to find out that they can volunteer.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB

I'm personally don't think it will happen.
You seem to want moderators which this site/Martin is against.
We only have board guides who roles don't entail what you suggest needs doing.
So I see three outcomes. Martin changes the whole way this place is run by introducing moderators and potentially ruins the site. He says no and it carrys on as it is. Or he removes the bankruptcy board! :undecided0 -
blind-as-a-bat wrote: »The sad fact is board guides are not enough here as near full time mods are the only answer and as i said at the begining this in itself brings up more problems but i see no other choice to keep this board alive and as i see it is the lesser of two evils
But won't the whole of MSE need moderating if one board does.
I mean the arguments and flaming are much more regular in discussion time and on the amrs board than anywhere else!
Sorry if it sounds like I'm dismissing your suggestions, I'm not. Just trying to look at it pratically.0 -
but the people who go into discussion time are not as fragile and vulnerable as the people who come here.:A
